DESCRIPTION

Fairhaven is a classic granite cottage believed to have been a former chapel of rest and pilchard store and understood to date back to the late 18th Century. The home has been in the current ownership for about 30 years and has at one time been used as two separate units but in its current configuration provides flexible and characterful accommodation with superb panoramic views over Newlyn harbour, Mounts Bay, St Michael’s Mount and along the coastline beyond.

Whilst the property would certainly benefit from some cosmetic updating and improvement it has a lovely character feel about it with a wealth of features that make this a lovely opportunity to create a wonderful family or holiday home. There is external access to both the ground and first floors evidencing its previous use as two separate units. On the ground floor there are three bedrooms, two to the front with views towards the harbour and sea – one of these with a doorway to the front terrace. There is an inner hallway with 3 Ref: LCAA8374 spiral staircase to the first floor, a bath and shower room to the rear and a small kitchenette/utility room which also has a separate shower and wc to either side of it.

At first floor level the main reception room is L-shaped and of a super size with windows to the side and lovely large doorways to the front to enjoy the views. The current owners sought and obtained planning permission for the construction of a balcony to the front of the property which would significantly improve the house. It should be noted that this planning permission was granted in 1993 and as a technical start was made this permission is now in perpetuity.

To the front of the house and at ground floor level there is a terrace from which to sit out and enjoy the views over the harbour and to the coastline beyond.

LOCATION
