CELEBRATING AUTHORS’ BIRTHDAY

“To write well, express yourself like the common people, but think like a wise man.” ― Aristotle

31st July will be remembered in the history of the literature due to birth of two great authors.

Dhanpat Rai Shrivastava (31st July 1880), better known by his pen name Munshi , was an Indian writer famous for his modern Hindustani literature. He is one of the most celebrated writers of the Indian subcontinent, and is regarded as one of the foremost Hindi writers of the early twentieth century. His novel include , , , Mansarovar, .

Joanne Rowling was also born on this day. She grew up to be known by her pen name, J.K. Rowling, under which she wrote the “Harry Potter” books. Cumulatively selling 500 million copies to date, “Harry Potter” is the best-selling book series in history.

To commemorate the contributions of both the sterling writers to the literary world, we will be organising a host of online activities for the students as detailed below:
