The white paper lists actual exports in 2007 of defence materiel on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ List I3, and of appurtenant technology. List I contains both Category A materiel, i.e. weapons and ammunition and other materiel that could affect the military balance of power beyond the immediate vicinity, and Category B materiel, i.e. other equipment specially developed or modified for military use. The total value of exports in 2007 was approximately NOK 3.6 billion. Sales of goods accounted for about NOK 3.2 billion of this, services for about NOK 308 million and repair work for owners in other countries for about NOK 130 million. Category A materiel accounted for just over NOK 2 billion and Category B materiel for about NOK 1.2 billion. By way of comparison, the total value of exports in 2006 was about NOK 3.5 billion.
