Key Points The ship will deliver 15 tons of Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) stores for the flood-affected people of Cambodia, which will be handed over to Cambodia’s National Disaster Management Committee (NDMC). Earlier, the ship delivered 15 Tons of HADR Stores for the flood-affected people of Central Vietnam. Mission Sagar-III is part of India’s HADR assistance to friendly foreign countries during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. In November 2020, as part of Mission Sagar-II , INS Airavat delivered food aid to Sudan, South Sudan, Djibouti and Eritrea. Launched in May 2020, 'Mission Sagar’ was India’s initiative to deliver Covid- 19 related assistance to the countries in the Indian Ocean Littoral states. The countries included were Maldives, Mauritius, Madagascar, Comoros and Seychelles. This Mission is being undertaken in accordance with the Security And Growth for All in the Region (SAGAR) vision and reiterates India’s position as a dependable partner, and the Indian Navy as the Preferred Security Partner and First Responder. The Mission also highlights the importance accorded to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries and further strengthens the existing bonds. Cambodia and Vietnam are member nations of the ASEAN. INS Kiltan It is a Kamorta-class anti-submarine warfare corvette. 1/2 It is part of the Indian Navy's Eastern Naval Command, based at Visakhapatnam. INS Kiltan, along with the INS Sahyadri, is the latest, indigenously designed and built multi-role ships of the Indian Navy. -

Daniel LEITNER als Einzelrichter über die Beschwerde von Herrn XXXX , geb. XXXX , StA. Indien, gegen den Bescheid des Bundesamtes für Fremdenwesen und Asyl vom 30.01.2017, Zl XXXX , nach Durchführung einer mündlichen Verhandlung zu Recht: A) I. I Nr. 100/2005 idgF, gestellt. Am 29.11.2012 fand vor einem Organ der Bundespolizei die niederschriftliche Erstbefragung des BF statt. In weiterer Folge wurde der BF am 05.12.2012 vor dem Bundesasylamt (im Folgenden: BAA) im Asylverfahren niederschriftlich einvernommen. 1.2. Das BAA wies den Antrag auf internationalen Schutz des BF mit Bescheid vom 10.12.2012, Zahl: XXXX , gemäß § 3 Abs. 1 AsylG 2005 ab und erkannte ihm den Status des Asylberechtigten nicht zu (Spruchpunkt I.). INTRODUCTION While it is well known that the Indian Army with a strength over Rs 14 Lakh is the second largest in the world, it seldom comes into reckoning that India also has a 15 Lakh plus strong Para Military Force (PMF)& Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) combined which again is amongst the largest in the world. While the raising of these forces are based on a threat perception & each force has specific roles, it is also true that most the primary roles have either been diverted, diluted, enhanced or reduced with the passage of time. Most of these forces were either raised to reinforce & support the armed forces or augment or enhance the State Police in their multifarious tasks. Today due to the dynamic security situation in the country, these forces are being used interchangeably & in several cases incongruent to their primary role. 3. India’s Internal Challenges The Unrest in Punjab : Akali Dal was the major political party in Punjab. In 1973, the Akali Dal passed the ‘Aanandpur Sahib Resolution’. The following demands were made in this resolution: Chandigarh should be made part of Punjab, the Punjabi speaking parts in other States should be included in the State of Punjab, recruitment of people from Punjab in the Indian army should be increased, and more autonomy should be given to the State of Punjab. Akali Dal came to power in Punjab in 1977. While taking charge, they asked for a larger share of river waters for Punjab, ‘holy city’ status for Amritsar, etc. along with their old demands. In 1980, the movement for ‘Independent Khalistan’ took root in Punjab. During that period, the leader of the Akali Dal was Sant Harcharan Singh Longowal. He used to direct his activists from the Golden Temple to stage protests. On the other side of the Golden Temple, armed followers started gathering around the staunch Khalistan supporter Sant Jarnailsingh Bhindranwale. During that period, terrorist activities had begun. Bhindranwale was arrested in 1981, accused of the murder of newspaper editor, Lala Jagatnarayan. After this incident, the situation worsened. Due to these developments, President’s rule was imposed in Punjab in 1983. Bhindranwale went to stay at a religious place called Akal Takht. Bhindranwale’s followers captured the Golden Temple and built a barricade of sand bags over there. The area looked like a fort. This greatly disturbed the peace in Punjab. It was a major challenge to Indian democracy. -

PERRY A Dissertation submitted to the Graduate- School- Newark Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy Graduate Program in Global Affairs written under the direction of Dr. Leslie Kennedy Newark, New Jersey May 2014 ABSTRACT Researchers in the field of Security Studies would ultimately like to make prescriptions on how to curb international and domestic violence worldwide. Much of the existing research focuses on the governmental responses to existing terrorist groups, such as counterterrorism strategies, while other research focuses on the immediate impact of terrorist organizations. Therefore, little focus is given to the historical and cultural factors influencing mobilization of actors and the relationship between parties involved. Research suggests that governmental strategies against collective groups, such as brute police force, can serve as a catalyst for backlash. Further research should be done to understand the impact of governmental strategies that aid in the mobilization of individuals into terrorist organizations, viewing terrorists as the backlash of a policy choice implemented by domestic or state level institutions. A sense of grievance is the key motivational factor for most terrorist organization, a common bond between members. Unwarranted use of violence, death of civilians and a lack of transparency in governmental decision making, make it easier to capture sentiments of an already aggrieved population into that of a terrorist organization. The current research assesses the impact of governmental strategies on collective action and mobilization into terrorist organizations after backlash. -

The boundary line, demarcating Indian and Pakistani territory, was created 17 miles to the west of Amritsar awarding the city to India. Amritsar, a flourishing commercial and cultural center, thus, became a border city overnight on the Indian side.
