We are seeking to appoint a new Executive Director, Sydney Health Partners. Sydney Health Partners was accredited by sydney.edu.au the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHRMC) as an Advanced Health Research and Translation Centre, recognising the partners’ world-leading use of research to improve health care and health outcomes. Sydney Health Partners aims to remove or reduce the barriers to the efficient and effective translation of health and medical research into clinical practice and by doing so, deliver the benefits of research and innovation to patients and communities faster and more consistently. The Executive Director is the strategic leadership role for the partnership. The successful candidate will be a highly respected leader either in a chosen discipline or at an organisational level. The role requires high degrees of stakeholder management to work closely with and influence partners to advance clinical research and translation opportunities and priorities. The successful candidate will ensure delivery of the shared goals of the partners and meet the requirements of the funding body (NHMRC). The role is a key resource for the Ministry of Health and Medical Research, as it relates to investment in new discoveries, translation of research into clinical practice, and delivery of transformative health change. The successful candidate must have a wide network of established relationships with key community, academic, government and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders, that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the partnership and University. Term and remuneration This position is employed through the Faculty of Medicine and Health at the University of Sydney on behalf of Sydney Health Partners. The position is offered on a fixed-term basis for 3 years, subject to completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees, and the successful candidate will be offered an attractive remuneration package. Hold a PhD or equivalent research doctorate in a relevant field of study, or other relevant higher degree qualifications. 2. Demonstrated experience engaging in a range of approaches to generate solutions, seeking expert inputs and advice to inform negotiating strategy. 3. Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes using sound arguments, strong evidence, and expert opinion. 4. Demonstrated ability to determine and communicate an organisation’s position and bargaining strategy. 5. Demonstrated experience representing an organisation in critical negotiations, including those that are cross-jurisdictional, achieving effective solutions in challenging relationships, ambiguous and conflicting positions. 6. A wide network of established relationships with key academic, industry and professional institutions, partners and stakeholders that can be leveraged to enhance the standing of the partnership and University. 7. Significant experience in people leadership and management within the higher education sector, including demonstrated excellence in supervising and/or mentoring others to success.
