OUR CITY EAST PARK TERRACE CAMPUS

Southampton is our home – a vibrant and modern city. It’s big enough to have something for everyone, yet small enough to put everything within easy reach.

And Solent University is right in the middle of it.

4 Our city-centre campus gives students access to all the benefits of the south coast’s biggest city – whether that’s shopping, culture, diversity, sport or career opportunities.

And we do everything we can to improve those opportunities. Strong ties throughout the city – in art, in sport, in government, in business – mean our students have all the chances they could ever need to get professional experience in their industry.

Plus there’s a variety of ways to make a difference in the local community – from volunteering at Southampton Pride to raising funds through the ABP Southampton Marathon.

We also play an active role in key city celebrations RE:SO and festivals, working with community partners every year to host cultural exhibitions, public speakers and sporting events.

Take Solent Gallery, for example. This dedicated gallery brings modern and innovative art to the centre of Southampton – free for anyone to appreciate. But it also brings opportunity, providing residencies and exhibition space each year for the most promising students.

We were the first to have access to the new nursing lab, which provides educational simulation, allowing us to practise our skills on state-of-the-art equipment. The staff also carried out major incident and cardiac arrest scenarios to prepare us for the real events and this gave us the confidence to carry out procedures in real-life.

In addition to this, the staff at Solent University have always been by my side with every single issue I’ve encountered, both academically and personally. The adult nursing team has always encouraged me to achieve my full potential. They’ve given us what it takes to become a nurse. I will forever be grateful for that.

The opportunities I’ve had have been fantastic. I was able to become a course rep throughout my whole Solent experience and I also won clinical apprentice of the year from 2018 to 2019.

There is truly nothing that can stop you in this course. The possibilities are endless.”
