Secondly, we present the two main marketing outputs: the website and the brochures. Thirdly, we show some examples of supporting marketing elements – posters, stands for fairs and flyers such as reply-cards. Finally as an addendum, we present the interface of the publishing tool – the control centre for managing content and resources and producing the marketing outputs – and the operational guidelines that support the staff using the tool. The headline movement away from grant funding to student fees provided through the Student Loan Company was well signposted, but with all such structural change the devil was in the detail, and there was a great deal of detail, much of it altering as we progressed through the academic year. Sadly the unique position of specialist Nicholas Durbridge institutions often appeared to be considered after the event, as Chairman with the late realisation that recruitment by ‘A’ level results is not a criteria by which we select our students.

    Norman Ackroyd: The Furthest Lands Media Release SOLO EXHIBITION BY RENOWNED ARTIST AND PRINTMAKER NORMAN ACKROYD AT YORKSHIRE SCULPTURE PARK 17 November 2018–24 February 2019 Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) presents an exhibition of work by Norman Ackroyd CBE, RA, one of Britain’s foremost landscape artists and contemporary printmakers working today. The Furthest Lands showcases a vast range of work that explores the western edges of the British Isles and runs at YSP, near Wakefield, from 17 November 2018 to 24 February 2019. Starting in the extreme north of the Shetland Islands, The Furthest Lands journeys south over 950 miles to the far south-west point of Ireland, through a display of the artist’s intricate aquatint etchings and a small collection of watercolours. Ackroyd’s characteristic muted tones add depth and energy to both familiar and faraway landscapes, including works such as Ailsa Craig, Firth of Clyde (1986), Treshnish Islands, Hebrides (2007) and Off Hermaness, Shetland (2018). Ackroyd made his first etching over 60 years ago at Leeds College of Art (now named Stac an Armin – Evening, 2010. Leeds Arts University). Created in the same period, Storm Over Gildersome (1959) – Courtesy the artist an atmospheric etching on steel which depicts the skyline of the Yorkshire village – features within the exhibition and has never been shown before. Many of Ackroyd’s early etchings were created in the Yorkshire landscape. Extending this documentation, Ackroyd has produced a new limited-edition etching, derived from YSP’s unique landscape, following a visit to the Park earlier in the year. Bretton Hall (2018) features the iconic mansion house and its surrounding woodland, reflected in Lower Lake.

In a series of flashbacks, Elvis relives his earlier experiences, the death of the twin brother whom he believes was his alter ego and stronger half, the death of his mother while he was a GI in Ger­ many, and the adulation poured on him as the lean, sexy king of rock. HiS manager, Colonel Tom Parker, is por­ trayed as his manipulator, holding a Presley dummy and gloating over the Martin Shaw as the ageing Presley in ARE profits.     RECOMMENDED TALKING POINTS “What is SHREK THE MUSICAL?” The official title of the show is SHREK THE MUSICAL. SHREK THE MUSICAL is an entirely new musical based on the story and characters from William Steig’s book Shrek!, as well as the Oscar® winning DreamWorks Animation film Shrek, the first chapter of the Shrek movie series. SHREK THE MUSICAL looks backwards at all the fairy tale traditions we grew up on: a hero (a big, green, ill-tempered ogre), a beautiful princess (who is not all she appears to be), and a dastardly villain (with some obvious shortcomings) and takes great fun turning all their storytelling conventions upside-down and inside-out (and on their ear). “How did the musical come about?” Sam Mendes, the British director and producer, was a big fan of the first film, and he suggested the idea of creating a musical to DreamWorks’ Jeffrey Katzenberg, around the time the second film was in production. Now, the musical is being produced by DreamWorks Theatricals (Bill Damaschke, President) and Neal Street Productions, Ltd (principals Sam Mendes and Caro Newling). “How does the new musical fit into the Shrek pantheon?” The story of the musical follows the events and characters of the first Shrek feature film, which won the first-ever Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature. In SHREK THE MUSICAL, the creative team will go deeper into the background and story of Shrek, Princess Fiona, Donkey and the lovable collection of everyone’s favorite Fairy-Tale characters. A true pioneer of the abstracted vision of landscape, his portrayal of the English countryside surrounding his home in West Sussex would go on to form one of the key ideas of British Mod- ernism in the 20thCentury. A founding member of the Seven & Five Society, the influential group of painters and sculptors that was responsible for bringing the ideas of the European avant-garde to London in the 30s, Hitchens was progres- sive long before the evolution of his more abstracted style post-war. Early on he felt a compulsion to move away from the traditional pictorial language of art school and towards the development of a personal language.
