Wickenden Wonderland, Dec 21, Rings In Holiday Spirit Caroling is part of the Christmas tradition. Ordinary folks gracing their neighborhood with their own style of holiday cheer is commonplace in many cities. Fox Point on the PVD East Side, one of the city’s neighborhoods with an artistic temperament, is putting their own spin on it. Wickenden Wonderland – Thursday, Dec 21, 6-8pm – is a celebration put together by the Fox Point Neighborhood Association, and it is for a great cause. Raising money for the homeless with Amos House, this wonderland provides a glimpse of beauty in the human spirit. It also looks like a damned good time. The start is the Point Tavern 6-7pm with drinks and plans for merrymaking. The kitchen will be occupied by Great Northern Barbeque, so it’s an opportunity to enjoy delicious food among friends. There will be drink specials at the Point, and their beverages are a great way to lubricate your singing voice – and no one should be caroling on an empty stomach. Revenue from food and drink sales will go toward Amos House. This all makes for a stellar reason to join in on the fun. At 7pm, the party moves to George M. Cohan Plaza (the intersection of Wickenden and Governor Streets) for what the event Facebook page describes as “great musical accompaniment of the Mighty Good Boys. There will be hot chocolate and cookies for everyone!” If you find yourself on PVD’s East Side or you’re in the city looking for something to do on a Thursday night, then celebrate the holiday season with a caroling crowd.

  • Jenny Lewis Feels Good. That Sounds Simple, but It's Been a Long Time
10/15/2015 Jenny Lewis Is Writing Songs Without Apology | Bitch Media MUSIC (/MUSIC) JENNY LEWIS (/TOPIC/JENNYLEWIS) by Hannah Steinkopf-Frank (/profile/hannah-steinkopf-frank) Published on August 25, 2015 at 10:48am Jenny Lewis feels good. That sounds simple, but it’s been a long time coming for the ‘90s child actor turned prolific musician. As a kid, Lewis starred in films like The Wizard and Troop Beverly Hills before pursing music. Her band Rilo Kiley was part of the wave of indie groups that defined the alternative music scene of the aughts. But in recent years, Lewis has faced a series of setbacks: the disbanding of Rilo Kiley, the death of her father, and chronic insomnia. https://bitchmedia.org/article/interview-jenny-lewis-music-and-voyager-feminism 1/9 10/15/2015 Jenny Lewis Is Writing Songs Without Apology | Bitch Media It was these experiences that provided the material for last year’s The Voyager (http://www.jennylewis.com/), her first solo release since 2008’s Acid Tongue. For Lewis, making The Voyager was freeing. Without the pressure of bandmates, she was able to have total control over her music, albeit with the occasional guidance of Beck and Ryan Adams. Lewis has also returned to her Hollywood roots and scored best-friend flick Very Good Girls and 2014 film Song One, which starred her friend Anne Hathaway. Lewis most recently wrote a song with boyfriend and collaborator Jonathan Rice for Meryl Streep’s rocker character, Ricki, in the new film Ricki and the Flash (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3623726/).

Rachel: [laughs] Griffin: It‘s not—it doesn‘t feel that bad to me. Rachel: See, you're used to it. Griffin: Y'know what it was? Mm, I had my big fat gaming rig pumping out pixels and frames. Comin‘ at me hot and heavy. Master Chief was there. Just so fuckin‘—just poundin‘ out the bad guys, and it was getting hot and sweaty in here. So I apologize. Rachel: Griffin has a very sparse office that has 700 pieces of electronic equipment in it. Griffin: True. So then, one might actually argue it‘s not sparse at all. In fact, it is filled with electronic equipment. Yeah, that‘s true. I imagine if I get the PC running, I imagine if I get the 3D printer running, all at the same time, it‘s just gonna—it could be a sweat lodge. I could go on a real journey in here. But I don‘t think it‘s that bad, and we‘re only in here for a little bit, so let‘s… Rachel: And I will also say that a lot of these electronics help you make a better podcast, which… is a timely thing.

I dragged the best man out of Tommy’s wedding after the best cities in eight days. One of those cities was Cleveland. While I was man dropped his pants at the bar. Friendships like this don’t come there, I scammed my way into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. • Jenny Lewis Udgiver Nyt Album - the Voyager Er Ude Nu
2014-07-30 13:00 CEST JENNY LEWIS UDGIVER NYT ALBUM - THE VOYAGER ER UDE NU Six years after her last solo album and seven years since the dissolution of her former band, Rilo Kiley, singer songwriter, Jenny Lewis is returning with The Voyager, a collection of West Coast pop reminiscent of her earlier work. This is the former Rilo Kiley frontwoman’s third solo album and first in six years, following 2006’s Rabbit Fur Coat (with The Watson Twins) and 2008’s Acid Tongue. The Voyager is Lewis’s most deeply personal album to date, documenting her struggle to cope following the death of her estranged father in 2010 and the subsequent break-up of Rilo Kiley. The Voyager’s rootsy, golden glow comes courtesy of Lewis and the artists she chose to produce various tracks, including Ryan Adams (who, alongside Mike Viola, produced all but three of the tracks), Beck, and Lewis’ longtime collaborator Johnathan Rice. The Voyager finds the always relatable songwriter at her sharp-witted best, singing about her recent experiences with honesty and incisiveness. Her third solo album, The Voyager has been described as "her best solo effort to date" by American Songwriter and is out now. The first single, "Just One Of The Guys," was labeled a "breezy, catchy single about not fitting in with the boys' club" by Rolling Stone. Celebrated California singer-songwriter Jenny Lewis has premiered the video for her new single, "Just One of the Guys," appropriately for the guys on GQ.com. The smart, tongue-in-cheek video stars Lewis' actress friends Anne Hathaway, Brie Larson, Kristen Stewart, and Tennessee Thomas as her band, and marks Lewis' directorial debut.
