Frederick Health Hospital is a 501(c)(3) not-for-proft organization and all gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law. Message from the President Dear Friends, For over 119 years, members of our community have relied on the staff at Frederick Health to provide care and comfort during their time of need. This has never been more evident than in the past year, as the people of Frederick trusted us to lead the way through the COVID-19 crisis. Driven by our mission to positively impact the well-being of every individual in our community, we have done just that, and I could not be more proud of our healthcare team. Over the past year, all of us at Frederick Health have been challenged in ways we never have been before, but we continue to serve the sick and injured as we always have—24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. Even beyond our normal scope of caring for patients, our teams also have undertaken other major responsibilities, including large scale COVID-19 testing and vaccination distribution. As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 crisis, we also look to the future. Our experience with the pandemic has underscored the responsibility Frederick Health bears in caring for our community during times of urgent and critical need. This is the reason for the $45.8 million critical care renovation and expansion project underway on our 7th Street campus. I am grateful for those who have generously contributed nearly $6 million toward this project by supporting the ReEnvisioning Critical Care campaign. I am happy to share that we are well on our way to reaching our fundraising goal of $14.75 million. I invite you to read more about the project on the following pages. While we cannot predict what challenges may lie ahead, we do know that with your support, Frederick Health will stand ready to meet the ever-changing healthcare needs of our community—today, tomorrow, and for generations to come. Thank you for your support of Frederick Health and the community we are privileged to serve. BEST REGARDS, Thomas A. It was a primitive cottage of the old style, standing in a garden and built on the cliff--the Emu Point side--overlooking the broad Leichardt River. The veranda, quite twelve feet wide, ran--Australian fashion--along the front of the cottage, except for the two closed-in ends forming, one a bathroom and the other a kind of store closet. Being raised a few feet above the ground, the veranda was enclosed by a wooden railing, and this and the supporting posts were twined with creepers that must have been planted at least thirty years.

Brussels PRINTED FOR MELINE, CANS A.ND C"., EOILEVARD DE WATERLOO, Zi. M DCCC XXXIX. MR V. un:ve PREFACE TO THE FIRST EDITION. To assist in the detection of spurious and the correction of inaccu- rate pedigrees, is one of the purposes of the present publication, in which respect the first Volume has been of acknowledged utility. The two together, it is hoped, will form a comprehensive and tole- rably correct Register of Pedigrees. It will be observed that some of the Mares which appeared in the last Supplement (whereof this is a republication and continua- tion) stand as they did there, i. e. without any additions to their produce since 1813 or 1814. — It has been ascertained that several of them were about that time sold by public auction, and as all attempts to trace them have failed, the probability is that they have either been converted to some other use, or been sent abroad. If any proof were wanting of the superiority of the English breed of horses over that of every other country, it might be found in the avidity with which they are sought by Foreigners. The exportation of them to Russia, France, Germany, etc. for the last five years has been so considerable, as to render it an object of some importance in a commercial point of view.
