The Failed Attempt to Prove Jewish Inferiority by a Skeleton Collection
Answers Research Journal 13 (2020): 331–335. www.answersingenesis.org/arj/v13/jewish_inferiority_skeleton.pdf The Failed Attempt to Prove Jewish Inferiority by a Skeleton Collection Jerry Bergman, Genesis Apologetics, PO Box 1326, Folsom, California 95763-1326. Abstract This is a review of the history of an attempt to prove Jewish racial inferiority by selecting Jews who fit the racial stereotype, then murdering them, and processing the bodies for display in a German university museum. In the end, the researchers were unable to find any evidence of Jewish racial inferiority as predicted by the anthropology and medical academic community of the time. The cost in terms of lives and suffering included over 100 innocent people who were murdered to prove a theory that turned out to be not only wrong but based on an erroneous secular philosophy, namely Darwinism. This display was one result of the rejection of the Genesis account that teaches all men are descendants of our first parents, Adam and Eve; thus all humans are of one race (the human race) and one kind (mankind). Keywords: Introduction to the Jewish Skeleton Collection History, Holocaust, Racism, Nazism, Darwin-based racism, Auschwitz, Social Darwinism, Ernst Haeckel, de Gobineau Introduction as taught by eugenicists, civilizations decline and A claim by some historians is that the Jewish fall when the superior race is generically mixed with Holocaust was caused purely by anti-Semitism. Paper Number: 2860 Claims on the Past: Cave Excavations by the SS Research and Teaching Community “Ahnenerbe” (1935–1945) Mattes, J.1 1 Department of History, University of Vienna, Universitätsring 1, 1010 Wien, Austria, [email protected] ___________________________________________________________________________ Founded in 1935 by a group of fascistic scholars and politicians around Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler, the “Ahnenerbe” proposed to research the cultural history of the Aryan race and to legitimate the SS ideology and Himmler’s personal interest in occultism scientifically. Originally organized as a private society affiliated to Himmler’s staff, the “Ahnenerbe” became one of the most powerful institutions in the Third Reich engaged with questions of archaeology, cultural heritage and politics. Its staff were SS members, consisting of scientific amateurs, occultists as well as established scholars who obtained the rank of an officer. Competing against the “Amt Rosenberg”, an official agency for cu ltural policy and surveillance in Nazi Germany, the research community “Ahnenerbe” had already become interested in caves and karst as excellent sites for fossil man investigations before 1937/38, when Himmler founded his own Department of Karst- and Cave Research within the “Ahnenerbe”. Extensive excavations in several German caves near Lonetal (G. Riek, R. Wetzel, O. Völzing), Mauern (R.R. Schmidt, A. Bohmer), Scharzfeld (K. Schwirtz) and Leutzdorf (J.R. Erl) were followed by research travels to caves in France, Spain, Ukraine and Iceland. After the establishment of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia in 1939, the “Ahnenerbe” even planned the appropriation of all Moravian caves to prohibit the excavations of local prehistorians and archaeologists from the “Amt Rosenberg”, who had to switch for their excavations to Figure 1: Prehistorian and SS- caves in Thessaly (Greece). -

I. Regionale Organisation Des SD
I. Regionale Organisation des SD 1. -

great deal remains to provide much of the texture of this excellent introduction to the collection. But Greis has also opened a window on the practice of archaeology at the beginning of the last century that adds to our understanding of the ways in which archaeology was practiced by the emerging class of ‘professionals’ and the heirs to a long tradition of amateur activity. Heather Pringle 2006. The Master Plan: Himmler’s Scholars and the Holocaust. New York: Hyperion. ISBN 0-7868-6886-4. Reviewed by Bruce G. Trigger, McGill University National Socialism provides a chilling example of what can happen when a modern nation state falls under the control of an organization that resembles a criminal syndicate more than it does a political party. Unfortunately, only a few papers are available in English that deal with how archaeology fared under this totalitarian regime. Now Heather Pringle has published a book which provides a narrative history of the Ahnenerbe, or Ancestral Heritage Foundation, a research institute founded in 1935 by Heinrich Himmler, Hitler’s minister of security who was also responsible for the implementation of Nazi racial and resettlement policies. In addition to being, like other Nazis, nationalistic and anti- Semitic, Himmler was an extreme romantic who planned to use the tall, blond-haired men of his security service (Schutzstaffel, SS) and selected women to re-breed a pure ‘Aryan’ stock, and to use knowledge collected by Ahnenerbe researchers to tutor these men in ancient German beliefs and farming practices so they might live as their noble ancestors had done. -

A Case-Study of the German Archaeologist Herbert Jankuhn (1905-1990)
Science and Service in the National Socialist State: A Case-Study of the German Archaeologist Herbert Jankuhn (1905-1990) by Monika Elisabeth Steinel UCL This thesis is submitted for examination for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) January 2009 DECLARATION I, Monika Elisabeth Steinel, confirm that the work presented in this thesis is my own. Where information has been derived from other sources, I confirm that this has been indicated in the thesis. January 2009 2 ABSTRACT The thesis investigates the relationship between archaeology, politics and ideology through a case-study of the prominent German archaeologist Herbert Jankuhn (1905- 1990). It addresses the following questions: what role do archaeological scholars assume in a totalitarian state’s organisational structures, and what may motivate them to do so? To what extent and how are archaeologists and their scientific work influenced by the political and ideological context in which they perform, and do they play a role in generating and/or perpetuating ideologies? The thesis investigates the nature and extent of Jankuhn's practical involvement in National Socialist hierarchical structures, and offers a thematically structured analysis of Jankuhn's archaeological writings that juxtaposes the work produced during and after the National Socialist period. It investigates selected components of Herbert Jankuhn's research interests and methodological approaches, examines his representations of Germanic/German pre- and protohistory and explores his adapting interpretations of the early medieval site of Haithabu in northern Germany. The dissertation demonstrates that a scholar’s adaptation to political and ideological circumstances is not necessarily straightforward or absolute. As a member of the Schutzstaffel, Jankuhn actively advanced National Socialist ideological preconceptions and military aims. -

Burgess II 1 NAZI IDEOLOGY AND THE PURSUIT OF WAR AIMS: 1941-45 by KENNETH BERNARD BURGESS II (UNDER DIRECTION OF BRIAN K. FELTMAN) ABSTRACT The purpose of this thesis is to examine what can be considered a military blunder on the part of the Nazi Germans. On June 22, 1941, Nazi Germany launched a massive invasion into the Soviet Union and Soviet territories. The political goals of Operation Barbarossa were to seize hold of the expanses of land belonging to the Soviet Union. This would serve as the foundation for increased agricultural production and the enslavement of any remaining Slavic people for the supposed greater good Germany.
