  • Bělahan and the Division of Airlangga's Realm
ROY E. JORDAAN Bělahan and the division of Airlangga’s realm Introduction While investigating the role of the Śailendra dynasty in early eastern Javanese history, I became interested in exploring what relationship King Airlangga had to this famous dynasty. The present excursion to the royal bathing pla- ce at Bělahan is an art-historical supplement to my inquiries, the findings of which have been published elsewhere (Jordaan 2006a). As this is a visit to a little-known archaeological site, I will first provide some background on the historical connection, and the significance of Bělahan for ongoing research on the Śailendras. The central figure in this historical reconstruction is Airlangga (991-circa 1052 CE), the ruler who managed to unite eastern Java after its disintegration into several petty kingdoms following the death of King Dharmawangśa Těguh and the nobility during the destruction of the eastern Javanese capital in 1006 (Krom 1913). From 1021 to 1037, the name of princess Śrī Sanggrāmawijaya Dharmaprasādottunggadewī (henceforth Sanggrāmawijaya) appears in sev- eral of Airlangga’s edicts as the person holding the prominent position of rakryān mahāmantri i hino (‘First Minister’), second only to the king. Based on the findings of the first part of my research, I maintain that Sanggrāmawijaya was the daughter of the similarly named Śailendra king, Śrī Sanggrāma- wijayottunggavarman, who was the ruler of the kingdom of Śrīvijaya at the time. It seems plausible that the Śailendra princess was given in marriage to Airlangga to cement a political entente between the Śailendras and the Javanese. This conclusion supports an early theory of C.C.

  • Pemanfaatan Aset Dan Pengembangan Destinasi Candi Gedong Songo, Kabupaten Semarang Dalam Rangka Pengembangan Pariwisata Berkelanjutan

  • Folklor Candi Cangkuang: Destinasi Wisata Berbasis Budaya, Sejarah, Dan Religi
FOLKLOR CANDI CANGKUANG: DESTINASI WISATA BERBASIS BUDAYA, SEJARAH, DAN RELIGI Sri Rustiyanti [email protected] Prodi Antropologi Budaya, Fakultas Budaya dan Media Institut Seni Budaya Indonesia (ISBI) Bandung Artikel diterima: 2 Juli 2018 Artikel direvisi: 18 Juli 2018 Artikel disetujui: 25 Juni 2018 ABSTRACT West Java has a variety of cultural, historical and religious potential that can be developed as the main tourist attraction, especially in Cangkuang Temple, Leles District, Garut Regency. Cangkuang Temple is one form of non-verbal folklore (artifact) inherited from two religions, namely Hinduism and Islam. The relics of Hinduism are the statue of Lord Shiva which is thought to date from the VIII century and the relics of Islam originated in the seventeenth century with the remains of the tomb of the Eyang Embah Dalem Arief Muhammad. The potential of Cangkuang Temple is quite interesting as one of the non-oil and gas foreign exchange tourism assets that needs to be improved in its management and empowerment. Therefore, the readiness of the Kampung Pulo community in developing tourism based on culture, history and religion still needs to be improved. Unpreparedness can be seen from the form of tourism development in each segment that has not been holistic and has not yet synergized with each other, regardless of the socio-cultural diversity of each, as well as the unclear market segments that will be targeted for development. Thus it is necessary to conduct research that aims to map the zoning of tourism development in accordance with the character of the community in the Garut Regency region.

*OFFICIAL USE ONLY PT PLN (Persero) East Java – Bali Power Distribution Strengthening Project Environmental & Social Management Planning Framework (Version for Disclosure) January 2020 *OFFICIAL USE ONLY BASIC INFORMATION 1. Country and Project Name: Indonesia – East Java & Bali Power Distribution Strengthening Project 2. Project Development Objective: The expansion of the distribution network comprises erection of new poles, cable stringing, and installation of distribution transformers. 3. Expected Project Benefits: Construction of about 17,000 km distribution lines and installation of distribution transformers in East Java and Bali 4. Identified Project Environmental and Social Risks: Social Risks. It is envisaged that this project will require (i) use of no more than 0.2 m2 of land for installation of concrete poles and approximately 4m2 for installation of transformers (either in cabinet of between two concrete poles or on one pole); limited directional drilling (approx. 200-300m) to run cables under major roads and limited trenching (usually less than 500m) in urban environments, and (iii) possible removal of non-land assets (primarily trimming or felling of trees) for stringing of conductors. While restrictions on land use within the existing right of way apply, the land requirements for the distribution network (lines and transformers) are considered manageable with normal mitigation measures. Project activities will not (i) require land acquisition, (ii) cause physical or economic displacement; and/or (ii) result in adverse impacts to Indigenous Peoples groups and/or members of ethnic minorities. Environmental risks are principally induced by the establishment of the network across natural habitats and potential impact on fauna (in particular avifauna and terrestrial fauna susceptible to access the distribution lines or transformers such as monkeys or other tree dwelling scavenging animals that frequent semi urban environments), and the management of waste (e.g.
