Abstract : Hydrology is abroad science that includes all water in the earth ball , the general trend of modern hydrology is the study of water above and below the surface of the earthThe aim of this study is to know the hydrological characteristics of the Najaf Sea region based on the digital elevation model of the area using geographical information systems and remote sensing technology. In this study, a number of hydrological properties were used for the area of the Najaf Sea these characteristic are (Fill, Flow Direction, Flow Accumulation, Stream Definition). In the result we obtained the highest value of the fill is (19.9983) and the lowest value is (11.9932), while the highest value for the flow direction of the water value it was (128) to the northeast direction and the lowest value is (1) to the east, the highest value of the flow accumulation is (90110657) and the lowest is (0), and the highest value of stream definition is (1), the lowest value is (0). Key Words : Hydrology, DEM (Digital Elevation Model), Remote Sensing, GIS (Geographic Information System). HYDROPHYTES IN KUFA RIVER ZAINAB ABDULAMEER MOHAMMED Department of Biology, Faculty of Education for Girls, Iraq ABSTRACT The present study included some physical and chemical characters and epiphytic algae in Kufa river. Three stations were chosen on the river, Site one It is located at north of Al-Emam Ali Bridge about away 1km (Appendix A, plate1). Site two,It is located near Al-Kufa Bridge, about 3 km away from site one (Appendix A , plate 2 Site three It is located at meeting's point before dividing Kufa-river in Dabbat's region (the place of buffalo's farmer) with a lot of organic material waste, about 1km away from site two (Appendix A, plate 3The samples were collected from these stations for three months from November 2014 to January 2015. Two kinds of plant were chosen which available numerously on the sides of the river they are Phragmites and Typha for study epiphytic algae on it. The Results showed that water river was alkaline and have good oxygen content and very hard. Hardness.Identification of algae was reached to (85) taxa , the dominance for Bacillariophyceae ( Diatoms ) about (55%,25%,17%,3% ) Followed by Chlorophyceae Euglenophyceae. Summary of Sabre Foundation’s Work with Iraqi University Libraries, the Iraq National Library and Archive, and Other Educational Institutions February 2010 Dr. Nour Al Mousawi and other members of the Iraq Health Aid Organization team of young medical doctors, receiving and displaying books from the shipment to the College of Medicine, University of Baghdad, and other medical schools, clinics and hospitals in Baghdad. 2 The goal of Sabre's book donation program is to help fill the need for high quality, up-to-date educational materials in developing countries and countries in transition throughout the world. In the last three and a half years, Sabre has shipped more than 320,000 new books, CD-ROMs and other educational materials with a fair market value of more than 16 million dollars to Iraq, in support of schools, universities and libraries. Books are selected from Sabre inventory lists by NGO partner organizations. Instead of trying to send as many books as possible, regardless of demonstrated need, Sabre asks its partners to select titles and quantities of books and CD-ROMs from offering lists sent by e-mail. Partner organizations for the shipments to Iraq include: Association of University Lecturers (Mosul); Kurdistan Reconstruction Organization (Dohuk); Iraq Health Aid Organization (Baghdad); and International Relief and Development (Arlington, VA). Orders are packed and shipped in ocean freight containers from Sabre's book distribution center in Lawrence, MA. Over 200 publishers have participated in the book donation program in the last 22 years. From thousands of titles offered throughout the year, Sabre carefully chooses only the materials likely to interest its constituencies abroad.
