DR GARY OGDEN Dr Gary Ogden has over 25 years experience in high performance polymer applications and is currently Technical Manager at Wells Plastics Ltd with responsibility for the development of novel additive masterbatches to suit customer and market requirements, which has recently seen a much increased demand for medical applications. He is greatly involved with both the regulatory (ASTM, ESMA, BSi, GSA, KSA) and political aspects of the plastics industry pertaining to oxo-biodegradable technology and biodegradable compounds. He is a Fellow of The Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining (IOM3) and a Chartered Scientist with the UK Science Council, a former Chairman of The Manchester Polymer Group (IOM3) and is currently Chairman of the Oxo-Biodegradable Plastics Federation.

DR RACHEL WARNER BVMS MRCVS Dr Warner graduated from Glasgow University Veterinary School in July 1993. During her undergraduate time at PAGE 8 Glasgow she organised an exploration society project in Trinidad and Tobago; also undertaking conservation work on turtles in Northern Turkish Cyprus. Once graduated she was offered a position in a mixed practice, as the first female veterinary surgeon ever at Senlac Veterinary Centre, East Sussex. After 3 years she pursued a position to do a greater percentage of Equine practice - in mixed practice in Much Wenlock, Shropshire. After a further 3 years she gained a position in a specialist Equine practice- Fyrnwy Equine Clinics. Also becoming their first female Veterinary surgeon!

DR CHARLOTTE HULME Dr Charlotte Hulme is a postdoctoral research scientist within the School of Pharmacy and Bioengineering at Keele University but based in the research laboratories at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital. Charlotte gained a BSc in Biology and then a PhD in Developmental Biomedicine from the University of Manchester. Her PhD investigated placental dysfunction in pregnancies complicated by diabetes mellitus. In 2015, she started her role as a postdoctoral researcher, applying skills she developed during her PhD to the field of orthopaedics. Here she works on the identification of molecules (called biomarkers) that can be used to predict the outcome neurology of patients with spinal cord injury (SCI) and on the stratification of patients to the most appropriate surgical interventions aimed at treating cartilage defects and early osteoarthritis.

She is now working, specialising in Midwifery, Reproductive Medicine and Maternal-Child Nursing. Becca is going to talk to the Jenner Society about her journey into Midwifery and why she loves her work.

DR PATRICIA COLVILLE BVMS MBA MRCVS Tricia qualified from Glasgow University Veterinary School in 1993. She worked in a small animal private practice for three years before joining the PDSA for 14 years. She moved to Vets Now in 2009 where she worked initially as Hospital Manager for the first Vets Now 24/7 Emergency and Specialty Hospital. She completed a Masters in Business Administration in 2014 and was President of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association between 2015-2016. Tricia is currently Business Development Director with Vets Now, a Trustee of Vetlife, UK Director for the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations’,

Volunteer for StreetVet and involved with the Scottish 9 PAGE branch of the British Veterinary Association.

DR JAN DIXON BVMS MRCVS Jan qualified from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1993, and began her career in Scotland. Sunny climes drew her to practice in New Zealand and for a year, before returning to the UK where she helped establish the largest out of hours veterinary emergency business in the UK. Jan helped set up the Pet Blood Bank Scottish Team, and was in poultry practice in Scotland. Jan is Honorary Secretary of the British Veterinary Bee Association and has thirty hives herself. Three children, three Vizslas (also blood donors), cats, emus, rheas, peacocks and too many chickens, all help occupy her time.

DR GEORGIE MUIR (OM 2013) Georgie left Moreton in 2013 and studied Medicine at Newcastle University Medical School. A founding member of the Jenner Society, Georgie graduated in 2018 and has now worked as a doctor for two years. She is currently completing her Foundation Year working for the Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust in the North East.
