PROFILE As a filmmaker and social media expert I strive to help organizations and communities share their mission and story through images. Over the past seven years, I have written, produced, financed, and marketed several multimedia projects and campaigns. You can view some of my media projects and awards on my website. RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE

FOUNDER, DIRECTOR, & EDITOR LABOR OF LOVE MEDIA, NON-PROFIT MEDIA ORG, (AUG 2012 - PRESENT) While I performed all direction and interviews related to the video and media production of the project, I am also in charge of the financing, branding, and marketing of Labor of Love and its mission to visualize the importance of lesbian history in the D.C. area. (www.laboroflovefilm.org) Labor of Love is documentary and video archive project about lesbian culture designed to foster communities outside the bar in the D.C. area.

MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY FELLOW, CENTER FOR NEW DESIGNS IN LEARNING & SCHOLARSHIP (CNDLS) AT GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY (2011 - 2012) I worked with the CNDLS Design and Development team to create and test new digital tools, both web & video, to enhance the learning and scholarship at Georgetown University. Worked in Wordpress, Omeka, and Final Cut 7.

WIKIPEDIA CAMPUS AMBASSADOR, GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY (2011 - 2013) I taught both undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in Georgetown courses how to create and edit Wikipedia articles for class assignments.

FILM TEACHING ASSISTANT, FILM & MEDIA STUDIES DEPARTMENT AT GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY (2012 - 2013) I served as a Teaching Assistant for Prof. Bernard Cook & Heidi Ewing at Georgetown University throughout two courses between Fall 2012 & Spring 2013. I taught undergraduate students how to edit and produce short 10- minute historical and social-justice oriented documentaries.

SOCIAL MEDIA & WEB MANAGER MANAGER, REEL AFFIRMATIONS: WASHINGTON D.C.’S INTERNATIONAL LGBT FILM FESTIVAL (2011 - 2012) Responsible for sending out emails, tweets, and Facebook updates regarding festival events & screenings. Also responsible for redesigning and updating website content (www.reelaffirmations.org).

TECH/AUDIOVISUAL EVENTS COORDINATOR, GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY, CCT PROGRAM, (FALL 2011) I worked with film and social media to promote the CCT program, projects, events, and community.

EDITORIAL INTERN, , WASHINGTON DC (SUMMER 2012) I wrote daily national and global news briefs about LGBT rights and politics.

VIDEO PRODUCER, FUTURE STUDENTS CENTER, LA TROBE UNIVERSITY, MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA (SPRING 2010) Shot, produced, and edited several short promotional videos that were screened at various educational fairs. The shorts were designed to promote La Trobe University’s educational programs and values.

WOMEN’S HISTORY IN THE DIGITAL WORLD CONFERENCE, BRYN MAWR COLLEGE (MARCH 2013) Screened Labor of Love, my documentary about lesbian culture in D.C., and gave a demo of Labor of Love’s online video archive for audiences at the Women’s History in the Digital World Conference at Bryn Mawr. WIKIMANIA 2012 CONFERENCE, GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY (JULY 2012) During my talk, “Translation & Transnational Scholarship,” I spoke about the emerging forms of transnational collaboration and co-creation within the Wikipedia Global Education program. I taught and trained students how to edit and create Wikipedia articles in the graduate course, “Media & Communication in the Arab World.” The presentation is based on my experiences assisting my students as a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador.

TEACHING AND LEARNING INNOVATION SUMMER INSTITUTE (TLISI), GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY (MAY 2012) I presented “Prezi: How to teach students to study like artists,” in front of faculty, staff and students who participated in the TLISI conference.

ACADEMEDIA GNOVIS CONFERENCE, GEORGETOWN UNIVERSITY (APRIL 2012) I spoke about the future of ePortfolios as sites of performance in the university context. See Presentation.
