During the very early hours before and during sunrise on Saturday, Dec. 10, the year’s second lunar eclipse occurred. This happens when the Earth passes between the Sun and the moon, thus blocking the Sun’s rays from landing on the lunar surface. Several readers contributed their photographs of the event, including this montage of the phases of the eclipse. Photos by Les Walker Photo by John Drake Photo by Doris Jean Lombard
