Scheduled completion: late September 2015, weather permitting Project Manager: Mark Roberts, E.T.

The pavement-resurfacing project in the Wichita area from the east Wichita/Kellogg toll plaza to near the Belle Plaine service area (MM 27-50.8) is nearly complete. While actual paving was finished last week, crews will be painting at the Kellogg, K-15 and south Wichita toll plazas yet this month.

Ea st Kellogg/Wichita Construction officially began in mid-August to rebuild East Kellogg/US 54 from the Turnpike's Kellogg toll plaza east to K-96. The first segment of the multi-year project is from the Turnpike's Kellogg toll plaza east to Greenwich road. This segment includes a new Webb Road and will eventually affect Turnpike traffic to Kellogg. We will keep travelers informed as work progresses. Motorists can also visit www.eastkelloggimprovements.com for updates as well.

A Look Ahead With most of the 2015 projects finished or nearing completion, KTA engineers are working on projects that will occur in coming years. Some of the projects you can expect to start in 2016 are:

• Drainage improvements (MM 101, 105, 116, 118) • K-32 Bridge Reconstruction (MM 206.345) • Interchange and Ramp Improvements (MM 110.820; Cattle Pens) • Bridge Replacement – South Bound (MM 45)

Maintenance projects, system wide Ongoing

The KTA maintenance crews work hard to ensure a smooth ride for customers. You may encounter them performing routine maintenance along the 236-mile roadway. These less time- intensive projects normally do not cause traffic delays and are communicated only through social media and roadway signage. However, travelers should drive cautiously in all work zones.
