29 Grantors Boston Bar Foundation The BBF is proud to support the BBA’s public service portfolio through the generous contri- butions of individuals, law firms, corporations and other organizations. The BBF is committed to making Boston a great place to work and live by increasing access to justice for those who need it most, providing opportunities for young people and engaging lawyers in meaningful public service opportunities.

In addition to supporting BBA Public Service programs, the BBF also works to help people in our community by providing grants to community organizations. In 2013, the BBF awarded $900,000 in grants, sourced from both IOLTA funds as well as the BBF’s own dollars, to 28 legal services organizations. These grantees work in all areas of immediate and emerging needs, assisting families and individuals with problems relating to immigration, domestic violence, and homelessness, as well as increasingly prevalent issues such as human traffick- ing and environmental justice.

The Boston Foundation As Greater Boston’s community foundation, The Boston Foundation devotes its resources to building and sustaining a vital, prosperous city and region, where justice and opportunity are extended to everyone. The Boston Foundation fulfills this mission in three principal ways: • Making grants to nonprofit organizations and designing special funding initiatives to address this community’s critical challenges; • Working in partnership with donors and other funders to achieve high-impact philanthropy; and • Serving as a civic hub and center of information, where ideas are shared, levers for change are identified and ommonc agendas for the future are developed.
