    Bulletin 1 WOC2013 Welcome by President of Finnish Orienteering Federation Dear Orienteering Friends, On behalf of Finnish Orienteering Federation I am pleased to welcome competitors, team leaders, offi cials and guests to the 2013 World Orienteering Championships in Finland. Fin- land will be the hosting country for the fourth time. The fi rst World Orienteering Champion- ships were organized in 1966 in Fiskars. Tampere was the host city in 1979 and 2001. In 2013 World Championships will be competed in Vuokatti in Kainuu region. TÄHÄN ISO KUVA The basic idea of orienteering is now the same as it was in Fiskars in 1966 – navigation with the use of map in an unknown terrain. There are also many changes: maps are more accurate, new disciplines have been developed, the number of participating teams in World Champi- onships has increased from 11 to over 40. For the spectators the following of orienteering competition has faced a revolution through the help of GPS. Kainuu Orienteering Week has also been organized since 1966. There were 315 participants at the fi rst O-week. The Record in Kainuu O-week is 5200 participants in 2007 in Vuokatti. In Vuokatti we want to organize challenging World Championships respecting the idea of ori- enteering. Also we want to offer a spectacular orienteering event for the audience in following the races in the arenas and by watching TV. We are aiming at having 10 000 participants in Kainuu Orienteering Week, our spectator race, to celebrate the atmosphere of orienteering. I wish You high motivation in your preparation for 2013 World Orienteering Championships in Vuokatti.

Tämä opinnäytetyö selvittää ja esittelee budjettimatkailun mahdollisuuksia Suomessa ulkomaalaisille. Opinnäytetyö on toiminnallinen, ja sen tuotos on englanninkielinen budjettimatkailijan opas Suomeen. Opinnäytetyön tavoite on nostaa esille matkailun valtavirrasta poikkeavia edullisempia matkustusmuotoja ja tuoda Suomessa matkailuun uutta näkökantaa budjettimatkailun perspektiivistä. Opinnäytetyön aihe valittiin sen ajankohtaisuuden ja aihetta käsittelevän tiedon puuttumisen takia. Aihe on myös erityisen mielenkiintoinen opinnäytetyöntekijälle ja se kehittää häntä ammatillisesti. Opinnäytetyö toteutettiin huhti- ja syyskuun 2015 välisenä aikana.

The MC has sent some comments to the FootO Commission. - the possibility to use laser printed maps in WRE events was discussed with FootO Commission - NAOC 2010 USA: comments on the quality of the map printing received - Canadian Championships: map printing by Adrian Zissos CAN, PrintTech Test Sheet were used, comments on maps received - WOC 2011 FRA Paper for map printing: organisers suggested to use waterproof material, the MC suggested G-Print offset printing paper - EOC 2010 BUL: it was noted that non-standard map symbols were used, for instance varied symbol sizes, some new symbols, some very small yellow areas.

    Københavner Cup 2. etape 19. maj 2015 Gl. Grønholt Vang Arrangør: PI-København Dansk Politiidrætsforbund Kære Orienteringsløber Nu sidder jeg så og skal skrive vel- komsten til Københavner Cup, 2 etape, og om 2 dage afvikles første etape i Gadevang. Men allerede nu er der kommet rigtig meget gang i de civile orienteringsløb. Påskens 3 dages løb i Mols Bjerge er netop overstået. Her var der lejlighed til at møde rigtig mange politifolk fra alle hjørner af Danmark, også andre end dem, som vi normalt ser til vores politiløb. Langt de fleste var rutinerede løbere, men også yngre kollegaer blev mødt, og flere af dem havde taget familien med. På startlisterne sås, Hans Pe- dersen, Egon Sloth og Gorm Jesper- sen fra Ålborg PI, Søren Klingenberg og Kurt Petersen fra Faaborg Oriente- ringsklub, Hans Henrik Juda fra Køge OK, Arne Pedersen fra Mariager Fjord sommerens ferie med orienteringsløb OK, Peder Stephansen fra Esbjerg OK, i f.eks. Sverige, Frankrig og Skotland, Ove B. Therkildsen fra OK H.T.F, Ole F. så løber Jørn Lind rundt i Gl. Grønholdt Thomsen og Svend Brøns Petersen fra Vang og planlægger banerne for etape OK Vendelboerne, Helle Wihan, Stefan 2 i årets Københavner Cup. Jørn er jo Pedersen, Peter Wihan, Hans Aage en særdeles rutineret banelægger, så Hvalsøe Hansen og Jonas Wihan, alle jeg er sikker på at han vil skabe nogle fra Odense PI, Erik Flarup fra Skive baner til denne etape. Der vil med ga- Amok, også Elin og Jesper Kracht, Anni ranti ikke være mange indsigelser fra og Jørn Lind og Jacob Spange Morten- banekontrollen Torkil Hansen.
