The 2021 conference is scheduled for July 23-25th, 2021 at the Wyndham and in celebration of the 50th anniversary. Three wonderful speakers are lined up for that program. The ACCC committee is saddened that the cancellation had to take place this year but look forward to seeing everyone in 2021. Further information can be found at: www.ARKCC.ORG WHITE / GREEN JUNE 21, 2020 “The one way I can pray is with patience” In the Pulitzer Prize winning novel “The Edge of Sadness” (Edwin O’Connor, 1960) Father Hugh Kennedy ends many days with an hour of prayer in his church: “There are those who can fling themselves into prayer. I can’t…The only thing I can do is to start to pray and to wait…until the day runs down…until finally it goes, and then comes a calm, a quiet, and, at last, prayer”. The apostles had something of the same experience when they fell asleep: “Could you not watch one hour with me?” More than 300 of us participate in Eucharistic Adoration at St. Bernard parish; parishioners have been doing it 24/7 for more than 20 years. We welcome new regular adorers and substitutes every week. How do we pray? With patience! “A calm, a quiet, and at last prayer.” Many of us sometimes just relax and enjoy the quiet peace that comes from being in the presence of the Lord. The fact that we are there with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament is itself a prayer of great faith. We can watch one calm, quiet hour with HIM. Even if we sleep a little.
