Executive Summary Highlights – During the 2nd half of Nov 2017 & After our Division’s Change of Watch, our flotillas participated in the elected officers train at Island, Alameda. Meeting with new elected officers to prepare for the 2018, transfer documents, inventory and creating preliminary plans. Also met with SO-FN to review and close accounts People – Our Members o Awards & Achievements – . Paul Verveniotis, Jose Pereira & Jimmin Chang for over 20 VSCs . Judy Esteban and BK Barr received their AuxOps device . Arthur Hardee (Lieutenant Colonel USAF Retired) who is our SO-PV & Assists in Recruiting by interfacing with US Representative Anna Eshoo, received letters of recognition. And from CG Director of Admissions, Capt. Robert McKenna, for volunteering over two decades assisting in recruitment of candidates to the United States Coast Guard Academy in Representative Anna Eshoo’s District . Certificate of Membership to the century club for PVs where received for Arthur Hardee and Andy Lai o “Semper Paratus / Gumby” – Thanks to the following: . The Division 04 leadership team and members for contributing to the achievement and success of 2017 . Michael Brown and Alan Stanton for stepping up to be DCDR and VDCDR for 2018 Activity Highlights o “3 UPS” and Details . Conducted a successful Division Change of Watch with forty attendees . Received Letters of Recognition for Division Member’s contributions in recruitment the CG Academy . Meeting and exceeding Division Goals for 15% increase in RBS and total mission hours for the year o Projects . ABS Classes at Bass Pro for Customer wanting Cal Boating Card 14th & 15th Oct . Div conducted COW dinner at Michaels at Shoreline Mountain View for evening of Nov 5th Sunday . Participate on Veteran’s Day activities in San Jose, Jimmin Chang’s “Willy Willy” on parade . Menlo Park Veteran’s Hospital wreath laying during their Veteran’s day Memorial Event . Participation at EOT sessions in med-Nov o CHALLENGES/OBSTACLES (“3 Downs”) . Division targeting groups of people at other organizations, Sea Scouts, Sea Cadets, retail boat and equipment purchasers for PE classes and seminars to increase ABS BS&S attendance. Graduated 35 attendees, not in AuxData base . Members retiring causing loss of facilities & experiences in key areas . FL41 and FL48 are investigating new locations for their meeting sites to be located more centrally . Only 33% of division members contribute to our total Mission & Activity numbers o AGENCY INTERACTION: . Partnering with Santa Clara County Park Rangers at South Bay Lakes and Alviso County Park and Harbor Masters to conduct RBS related events . Boy Scouts of America in their Sea Scouts program to conduct RBS boating safety classes and seminars at the South Bay Yacht Club at Alviso . Dock Walker Program with Cal Dept. of Boating and Waterways in the Marine Safety & Green environment area .
