Veterans Art Exhibit Developed in association with the San Francisco Academy of Art University, this 0900-1800 annual juried show features original works by Veterans to currently serving military. Academy of Art University - The exhibit will be presented at the Atelier Gallery of the Academy of Art University, Atelier Galleries located at 79 New Montgomery Street near Mission Street. This dynamic “South of Market” location generates tremendous foot traffic and is located within blocks of the SFMOMA, the “Financial” district and nearby major public transit hub.

Hosted by Academy of Art University and the SFFWA. Open to the public. Closed on Sundays.

Thursday 3 October All City Meeting 0930-1030 The City and County of San Francisco will hold a meeting with all city departments SF EOC 1011 Turk Street and participating agencies to review the SFFW Events. SFFW DSCA Exercise The capstone exercise to the SFFW Exercise Program will build on lessons learned 0900-1400 from the lead-up exercises and bring together Bay Area first responders and Pier 27 emergency managers; private sector and non-governmental organization (NGO) partners; local, state, and federal emergency managers; and DoD personnel to test disaster logistics strategies, including emergency route opening and debris management. The exercise will consist of a display of debris and route reopening equipment and technology, as well as the activation of the SF Public Works (SFPW) DOC and the San Francisco EOC.

Hosted by The Center, the Port of San Francisco, and San Francisco Department of Emergency Management.

Interoperable Training The SFFD will provide tactical Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) training to the with the San Francisco military and includes a friendly interagency competition for bragging rights. In 2011, Fire Department Urban the Marines used skills learned during this training in response to the Tohoku, Japan Search and Rescue Earthquake. Senior Leaders Seminar The 10th Annual Senior Leaders Seminar. During Day 1 of the seminar, we reflect Day 1 on the SFFW DSCA Program 10 years after its inception. Leaders are briefed on the 0900 - 1600 2019 SFFW DSCA Debris Management and Route Opening Exercise, hear lessons Marines’ Memorial Club learned from real world debris missions post disaster, and discuss the nation state threat and the Cyber Command Center response. Humanitarian A three-day public engagement and interactive demonstration of US Military and Assistance Village, and civilian capabilities that draws over 250,000 people to the Marina Green. Guided by The STEM Education a “passport” and app, participants are encouraged to explore the four different theme Center Presented by camps: Mass Care & Shelter, Power & Utilities, Community Response & Rescue, Verizon and Environmental Management & Decontamination. Co-located within the HAV is the STEM Education Center Presented by Verizon where Military and civilian 1000-1700 The Marina Green organizations put on interactive and static displays demonstrating the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education. Exhibits include robotics, energy, communications, and other STEM-related programs.
