A discussion occurred with fire department previously showing interest in the purchase of #55 tanker. Council directed the fire chief to contact Hurkett to see if they were still interested.

THAT Council hereby receives the report from the Fire Chief and declares the following department equipment as surplus:

Unit #55 - 2004 International Fire Tanker Truck Serial # 1HTMMAAP04H657740

AND FURTHER THAT the above noted equipment shall be disposed of per By-law #2154-05, which set policies for disposal of goods and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office

Council gives direction to contact the Hurkett Fire Chief to inquire if they are still interest in Tanker #55 2004 International Fire Tanker for a cost of $7,500.00 AS IS. If Hurkett is no longer interested then the tanker #55 is to go to public auction. CARRIED.

ii) Appointment of Alternate Community Emergency Management Coordinator

THAT Council hereby receives the report and directs the Clerk to bring forward a by-law to appoint Susan Moore to replace the alternate Community Emergency Management Coordinator and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office CARRIED. e) Administration i) Administration report for a request to deem lots not to be within a plan of subdivision as part of a request to purchase shoreline road allowance

THAT Council supports the application to purchase the shoreline road allowance in front of Lots 18 and 19 Plan M-100, owned by John and Beverly Dolcetti to be considered only after a by-law to deem the said lots not to be within a plan of subdivision has been registered on title;

AND FURTHER THAT all costs associated, including advertising, surveying and any legal costs be the responsibility of the applicants CARRIED.

ii) Appoint Council Member to EMPC Committee

THAT Council hereby receives the administration report to appoint a Councillor to the EMPC Committee as appointed below and the same be filed in the Clerk's Office.

iii) Adoption of the Official Plan

Shannon Dodd-Smith the planner, discussed the few changes in the report provided to council. The changes will make it easier for the municipality to move forward. Ms. Dodd-Smith recommended that this official plan be adopted.

WHEREAS Section 26(7) of the Planning Act requires Council,

by resolution, to declare the Official Plan meets the requirements of clauses (a), (b) and (c) under Section 26(1) of the Planning Act.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Shuniah hereby declares to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing that the Official Plan meets the requirements of Section 26(1) of the Planning Act;

THAT it conforms with the provincial plans or does not conflict with them, as the case may be;

HAS regard to the matters of provincial interest listed in section 2 of the Planning Act;

AND is consistent with policy statements issued under subsection 3(1) of the Planning Act. CARRIED.

f) Finance Department i) September Monthly Expenditure Report

Councillor Smith questioned why this report is generated. Treasurer responded indicating that it is a report that council has requested for many years. It apparently was recommended a number of years previous by a council consultant to not prepare a monthly expenditure report. It would be beneficial to not prepare this report but to focus on the quarterly financial statements that are given to council.

Council gave verbal direction for administration to not prepare this report moving forward.
