23/05/2016 to : 27/05/2016 Enterprise Resources Planning and Building Standards Weekly List of Planning Applications List of planning applications registered by the Council for the week ending From : - 23/05/2016 To : 27/05/2016 The Planning Weekly List contains details of planning applications and proposals of application notices registered in the previous week . Note to Members: Proposal of application notices A ‘proposal of application notice’ is a notice that must be submitted to the Council, by the developer, at least 12 weeks before they submit an application for a major development. The notice explains what the proposal is and sets out what pre-application consultation they will carry out with the local community. Please note that at this stage, any comments which the public wish to make on such a notice should be made directly to the applicant or agent, not to the Council. If, however, any of the proposals described on the list as being a proposal of application notice raise key issues that you may wish to be considered during their future assessment, please contact the appropriate team leader/area manager within 10 days of the week-ending date at the appropriate area office . Planning applications If you have any queries on any of the applications contained in the list, please contact the appropriate team leader/area manager within 10 days of the week-ending date at the appropriate office. Applications identified as 'Delegated' shall be dealt with under these powers unless more than 5 objections are received. In such cases the application will be referred to an appropriate committee. In addition, a request to refer an application to committee should be directed to the area manager/team leader within 10 days of the week-ending date at the appropriate area office . A Member should only request that a team leader or manager consider referring a delegated application to committee if the Member still has concerns about an application after having discussed the matter with the team leader/area manager. Note for community councils and members of the public: If you wish further information on any planning application included in the list, please contact the case officer dealing with application . Officers can be contacted by phone on 03031231015 or by email [email protected]. Alternatively, you can view the application and associated documents on the Council's website at www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk <http://www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk> Commenting on a planning application If you wish to comment on a planning application, you can do so by email [email protected], or in writing to Planning and Building Standards Services, Montrose House, 154 Montrose Crescent, Hamilton ML3 6LB or on the Council's website at www.southlanarkshire.gov.uk where you can submit comments directly through the application using the 'Search applications' button. Please note that comments can only be submitted via the website for a period of 21 days from when the application is registered. If you wish to make comments after this date, please check with the case officer that the application has not yet been determined . Any comments submitted after this date must be done either by email or letter - you will not be able to use the website. Commenting on a proposal of application notice If you wish to comment on a ‘proposal of application notice’ they should be made directly to the applicant or agent, not to the Council . If an application is subsequently submitted to the Council it will again appear on the weekly list and there will be an opportunity to submit comments to the Council at that time. If you need this information in another language or format, please contact us to discuss how we can best meet your needs. Submitted for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy School of Humanities College of Arts University of Glasgow © Peter Drummond February 2014 2 Abstract This thesis examines a small but unfashionable area of Scotland, invisible to tourist guidebooks, heavily urbanised, and whose towns have won environmental ‘Carbuncle awards’ from the Scottish media. Yet it is deep in Gaelic and Scots place-names which reveal a landscape that past inhabitants perceived to be a green and relatively pleasant land, if perhaps not flowing with milk and honey. Part Three belies its numeration, in that it is the core of the study, examining in detail the place-names of eight (modern) parishes, listing old forms and attempting a sound etymology for each.

  • Colinhill Grange STRATHAVEN
Colinhill Grange STRATHAVEN A distinctive collection of 4, 5 and 6 bedroom detached family homes A wonderful place to call home Colinhill Grange is a distinctive collection of detached family homes set within the commuter town of Strathaven - always a popular location, not least due to nearby Strathaven Academy’s excellent reputation. Sitting on the south-western edge of the town and bounded to the north by farmland, Stewart Milne Homes’ designs for Colinhill Grange have been inspired by the rural nature of its gentle south-facing slopes, affording long views over the rolling landscape and mature trees within the site. When entering Stewart Milne Homes’ developments the ‘sense of arrival’ should always feel very special, especially important at Colinhill Grange as its location creates a new gateway from the west into this popular market town. The properties are all set well back from the road, creating a generous expanse of landscape to welcome you at the entrance and placing the new homes further up the slope, creating fantastic views over countryside to the south. Within the development, historic landscape and new planting combine to create a fantastic living environment. Mature trees are being retained within the central Village Green, connecting the new residential areas to the countryside. We consider it essential that each home has a defined public/ private boundary, so whilst new hedges will form a unified street, the wide selection of house styles, materials and varied alignment of the homes will create a true sense of the individual. You will be as proud to live at Colinhill Grange as we are creating it.
