Highlights include criss-crossing the country to report on issues relating Los Angeles, CA to the 2016 Presidential Campaign which included stops at the RNC, DNC and Inauguration 2016 - Present in Washington DC. More recently, was tasked with shooting two heavily promoted series -- one on Opioid addiction which evolved into an hour-long documentary, "One Nation, Overdosed" on MSNBC, and the second, a look at the legalization of Cannabis in California. Also responsible for coordinating and supervising a rotating team of camera crews, fixers, editors and visual animators throughout production. NBC Network News Shot, wrote and produced a wide variety of stories for NBC Nightly News, the TODAY Show Producer and NBCNews.com. Highlights included field producing the Japanese earthquake and Los Angeles, CA tsunami of 2011, the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton in London and the 2008 - 2016 tornado in Moore, Oklahoma in May 2013. In addition, served as interim Bureau Chief for NBC's Afghanistan office in 2013, overseeing coverage plans, budget and personnel over a two-month period. Also worked two Olympics for NBC News including the 2014 Games in Sochi and the 2008 Summer Games in Beijing, where I field-produced and served as a Mandarin translator for Brian Williams. NBC Network News Assisted on a wide range of stories for NBC Nightly News, the TODAY Show and MSNBC. News and Documentary Emmy Award WASHED ASHORE September 2013 One of five finalists nominated for Outstanding Coverage of An Ongoing NBC Nightly News News Story for our one-year look at the impact and potential environmental dangers associated with tsunami debris stemming from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. National Association of Black Journalist RUBBLE SURVIVOR Salute to Excellence Award Shot, produced and co-wrote a story about an unlikely survivor of the September 2012 Haitian earthquake in 2010, who managed to stay alive for more than one NBC Nightly News week under a mountain of debris with no food and little water. Humane Society Genesis Award SAVING THE HORSES March 2011 Shot, produced and wrote this piece about a woman in Arizona who NBC Nightly News rescues, rehabilitates and adopts out abused and abandoned horses.
