Opening hours can be found on page 22. At the recycling station, you can pick up a red box, free of charge, for storing hazardous waste. The box is childproof. There is an accompanying brochure about hazardous waste. You may empty the box, free of charge at the recycling station. See page 9. Empty glass bottles, food jars and metallic packaging are disposed of in the glass and metal containers. These are placed in various locations in all the municipalities. We empty about 2,500 sludge/septic tanks per year. The tanks are emptied once every other year for all inhabited dwellings. For secondary residences, the tanks are emptied every fourth year. Learn more on page 21. We offer three different subscriptions for cabin/holiday home waste collection services – the blue big bag! HAZARDOUS WASTE: Delivery is free of charge at the recycling station; use the red box when possible: For example, • paint • varnish • glue • all types of lightbulbs and fluorescent tubes • all types of batteries • plant preservatives • spray cans and gas • PCB windows • chlorinated paraffin windows • etc. RISK WASTE: Reno-Vest will only accept infectious waste such as hypodermic needles in sealed containers. They are compressed and sent to recycling – the content becomes new paper and new cartons. 4 Use the BLUE BAG only for clean and dry plastic packaging! What should be placed in the blue bag and why? You get bags for sorting waste free of charge in grocery stores in Vesterålen and Lødingen. Making green, red and blue bags available in grocery stores facilitates waste-sorting. Everyone has to buy food, and the grocery stores have late opening hours. This way you can get the roll of bags that you need without having to wait two weeks for the next waste collection. Each roll contains 40 bags, so one roll will last many weeks. This arran- gement is here to stay – you do not need to stockpile bags at home. The stores will also sell white bags for residural waste at NOK 30 per roll (40 bags). This is how to launch the new alert app Min Renovasjon: 1. Download the Min Renovasjon app free of charge from Google Play (for Android) or from the App Store (for iPhone/iPad). 2. The first time you use the app, you will need to select the municipality you belong to. Next, register your address or your property registration and holding number. 3. The collection calendar shows the days when we collect refuse at your address. You can activate the alert so that you are notified by mobile phone before pick-up time. The notification is free of charge. Free text-message reminder the day before collection To get your text-message reminder, go to the collection calendar via www.reno-vest.no/privatkunder/tommekalender/: • Write the name of your street in the search field (or property/holding number) The address will show in the drop-down menu. Select your address. • When you have selected the correct address, fill in your telephone number. • Select ‘order’ (bestill). • You will now receive a confirmation text message. This can also be done in the app. 7 Position the waste bin with the lid’s opening towards the road – close to the road so that the lift arm reaches the bin. We serve most routes using garbage trucks with a lift arm. To have the bin emptied: 1. the lid opening must be facing the road 2.

    REGULERINGSPLAN FOR RV 82 MILJØGATE ANDENES Merknadsbehandling/Dokumenter til sluttbehandling Statens Vegvesen Region Nord, Midtre Hålogaland distrikt Harstad 16.11.2009 SAMMENDRAG Statens Vegvesen har med hjemmel i Plan og bygningslovens § 9-4 utarbeidet forslag til reguleringsplan for Rv 82, Miljøgate Andenes. Strekningen er deler av Storgata fra flyplasskrysset og til krysset ved Nordlandsbanken. Planarbeidet er gjort etter avtale med og i samråd med Andøy kommune. Hensikten med planarbeidet er å legge til rette for oppstramming av trafikale forhold langs Storgata på denne strekningen, samt bedring av forholdene for de myke trafikkantene med utvidelse og oppgradering av fortau og sikring av fotgjengeroverganger. Lokalisering av busstopp og parkeringslommer inngår også. Total lengde er ca 1 km. Prosjektet inngår som en del av trafikksikkerhetsarbeidet i Andenes sentrum. Arbeidet forutsettes gjort samtidig som kommunen foretar utskifting av sitt vann og avløpsnett som ligger i Storgata. Byggestart er avhengig av fylkeskommunale bevilgninger. Det er tidligere utarbeidet et planhefte som tar for seg saksbehandlingen fram til planen er utlagt til offentlig ettersyn, jf innholdsfortegnelsen 1-2. Etter at planen har vært utlagt til offentlig ettersyn i tiden 26.06 – 15.08.09 er det totalt innkommet 7 merknader til planforslaget med bestemmelser. Statens vegvesen har gjennomgått og kommentert disse. Etter avtale med kommunen ble det arrangert et informasjonsmøte om planen den 1.oktober 2009. Det foreligger i alt 7 innspill etter dette møtet. I tillegg har det vært drøftet med kommunen ulike detaljløsninger i planen. Planen er revidert 01.11.09 og gjennomgått med kommunen i møte 10.11.09. Det er ikke fremmet innsigelse til planen og dette medfører etter Statens vegvesen sitt syn at planen kan egengodkjennes av kommunestyret.

Some highlights: New organizational structure Pilot project for Marine Base Maps in Norway Digital Nautical Publications New Hydrographic Infrastructure Continued high activity in the Mareano project in both coastal and open sea arctic areas COVID-19 1. Hydrographic Office 2020 has been yet another eventful and challenging year for the Norwegian Hydrographic Service (NHS), and indeed for the entire Norwegian Mapping Authority, of which we are a part. 2020 started as normal, but in March, Covid affected us in Norway as it did the rest of the world. As of March 13, we went in to a national lock down in Norway. At the NHS we were all sent home, our survey vessel M/S Hydrograf was ordered to port, and the crew sent home. The next few weeks were quite chaotic. Not all of our employees were able to work from home. Some of our production systems were not adapted to working online, and some of the data we handle are subject to restrictions making it illegal to work on them via the internet. Our IT department and some of our software suppliers worked around the clock, and within a matter of weeks our production line was operational again albeit at a slightly reduced rate. A gradual return to the office was planned for August, but due to a flare up in Covid cases after the summer holidays, the return was postponed, and as of October, most of our employees have again been working from home.

In your view, what have been the EU’s main achievements and failures under each of the three priorities in the 2016 Joint Communication? Vest-Finnmark Rådet, Vesterålen regionråd, Salten Regionråd, Indre Helgeland Regionråd and Helgelandsrådet embraces the EU’s engagement in promoting sustainable development in the Arctic. This priority marks a positive shift in how the Arctic is perceived as a strategically important territory, with green growth potential for the region and Europe. The EU’s top priority should be to assist the region in overcoming the Arctic paradox. That is, changing a demographic trend that is inversely correlated with economic growth. A stable demographic development is a necessary precondition for development and security in the Arctic regions. The most important means of meeting regional challenges in the Nordic/European part of the Arctic is by making use of the large natural resources in the region to stimulate economic growth and create new attractive jobs including utilizing the research institutions in the Arctic. The EU’s Arctic engagement shows great achievement, as exemplified by the processes leading to the report on Arctic investment needs in 2017, and the EU Arctic Forum in 2019.
