  • Palju Õnne, Karksi Vald! La Nime Kasutamist Piirkonnas Peame Igati Õigustatuks
    • Karksi valla infoleht • Nr 2 (247) veebruar 2017 • Foto: Margus Mõisavald Mis lapsukesele nimeks saab? Eelpool esitatud nimed on loetelu kohanimenõukogu poolt soovitatud nimedest. Meie, see tähendab ühinevate omavalitsuste arvates toetab Mulgi valla nimi ko- hanimeseaduses esitatud nõuet, mille järgi tuleb eelistada nime, mis on paikkonnas tuntud ja levinud ning on oluline aja- ja kultuurilooliselt. Kuivõrd loodav omava- litsus ei hakka hõlmama kogu Mulgimaad, vaid ainult selle keeleliselt läänemulgi murrakurühma jäävat piirkonda, soovime omavalitsuse nimeks Mulgi vald, mitte Mulgimaa vald. Näiteks varasemalt on kohanimenõukogu poolt heaks kiidetud Hiiu valla nimi. Hiiu vald ei hõlma samuti kogu Hiiumaad. Nüüd soovivad taaskord ühinevad hiidlased valla nimeks Hiiumaa valda ning sellele pole kohanimenõukogu heakskiitu andnud. Me ei pretendeeri Mulgimaa nime kasutamisele, ent Mulgi val- Palju õnne, Karksi vald! la nime kasutamist piirkonnas peame igati õigustatuks. Content (e) STONIA. It’s a set of three rings, carved out of granite. The piece was made for an international jewellery competition in Finland, called ‘’The Spirit of stone’’, where it won third prize. The idea of the piece was to depict Estonian national character. From the first sight, Estonians seem as cold and distant people who take effort and time to get along with, but once you get passed that, the friendships are forever. Same as working with cold granite- it take time to hold it in your hand until it warms up, but when it does it stays warm for a long time. Madonna x 2. This is the first piece I made during the time in Estonian Academy of Arts.

Ornamentum 506 Warren St. Hudson, NY 12534 www.ornamentumgallery.com Press Contact: Stefan Friedemann 518.671.6770 gallery 518.821.3310 mobile [email protected] For Immediate Release: Miami Beach - Design Miami / 2016, Ornamentum is thrilled to announce a very special presentation of Lost Causes- David Clarke & Jaydan Moore as their highlighted exhibition at the 2016 Design/Miami fair. A curated selection of jewelry and object- a sampling of important works from Ornamentum’s international roster of acclaimed artists will also be exhibited. November 30 - December 4 Collectors Preview Tuesday November 29. High Res images available. Lost Causes – David Clarke & Jaydan Moore Two artists are placed together in a conversation of comparison and contrast. While the starting point of both is often similar- finding discarded silver and altering to new effect... yet with very different concepts behind them, the results are strikingly different. In the words of Independent Curator Glenn Adamson: David Clarke has long been the key figure in British smithing, at least at its avant garde extremity. Equal parts bad boy and consummate master, his use of found objects and unexpected materials like sugar and salt inverts expectations, while his imagery incisively explores the domain of everyday domesticity. This exhibition places his work alongside that of Jaydan Moore, a young American smith whose interests and techniques bear close comparison to Clarke's but also strike out into new territory. Moore is more lyrical and draftsman-like in his approach; his works often feel like intuitive drawings, despite the hard craft that went into their making. This exhibition at the always - adventurous Ornamentum Gallery is a golden opportunity to see two of the leading lights of this demanding medium side by side.

• Anna Lindh Foundation 15-Year Review 2005-2020
Anna Lindh Foundation 15-Year Review 2005-2020 Co-funded by the European Union on the occasion of the 25th Anniversary of the EuroMediterranean Partnership 2005-2020 Anna Lindh Foundation 15-Year Review 2005-2020 Foreword by the ALF President In my capacity as President of the Anna Lindh Foundation, I present with pride the Review of the first 15 years of activity of the Foundation. As the first institution of the EuroMediterranean Partnership, it has responded since its creation in 2005 to the ambitious mandate given by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the region to promote closer human, cultural and social relationships between the people of the region. First and foremost, I would like to extend a warm and sincere thank you to the Member States of the EuroMed region and the European Commission that have trusted and entrusted the Anna Lindh Foundation, ensuring throughout its institutional life the needed political and financial support. I would like to recognize the value of the collaborations established with the UFM, UNESCO, League of Arab States, CMI and World Bank, the UNAoC, OCDE, OSCE, British Council, Club de Madrid, Unimed, Copeam—to name only a few of the partners who made it possible for the ALF to ensure long-term impact, reach and quality of its action. The ALF 15-Year Review testifies this achievement, but the best testimony comes from the stories of all the beneficiaries of the Foundation’s actions, many of whom, nearly a million, I have had the pleasure to meet personally throughout my mandate. I have also had the opportunity to meet with people from different cultural backgrounds in an effort to develop their skills and knowledge in relation to diversity management and intercultural communication; to conceive and implement collaboration projects within their society and across the region; to receive awards for the recognition of their efforts and commitment to dialogue work; and to support the strengthening of civil society in the different countries of the Partnership.
