ASTON MARTIN VV88 VANTAGE & ROADSTER 4.34.34.3,4.3 ,,, LARINI “ SSSPORTSSPORTS ””” SYSTEM In terms of sound, the OE system is a useful one, but in no way comparable to the Larini ‘ Sports ’ Rear Box. Once fitted, you will hear and feel the difference. Feedback to our exhaust for the V8 Vantage has been incredible, and sound clips really do not do the system justice. You have to hear and drive the system in the metal to appreciate the transformation it makes to the V8 Vantage. A point of note is the structural integrity of our system, which is vital to the component and vehicle in the case of an impact. More info further below. Requires no special procedures to fit. (SOUL) Superior Sound - Our System sounds phenomenal. We have developed a 'Sports ' Rear Box which produces the Larini 'Note' under acceleration as opposed to any excessive drone, boom or vibration. Our System does have significantly more volume than the original unit but is perfectly practical for everyday use. The volume increases with revs so as not to intrude uncomfortably into the cabin, but sounds absolutely phenomenal when accelerating. Our ' Sports ' Rear Box exaggerates the existing exhaust note.... it lifts the volume, makes it deeper at low rpm, adding a subtle, aggressive 'tone' and then lifts the pitch at high rpm, so when matched with throttle opening it develops a beautiful sound. It really is just one of the most satisfying 'tuned' exhaust notes. Expect a pure F1 howl under throttle! This is a sophisticated sports exhaust designed and tested for the Aston Martin V8 Vantage. If you wish to increase the richness further of the Larini’s sound we recommend the replacement of the OE catalysts with Larini ‘ Sports ’ Cats. A sensational sound is guaranteed. (POWER) More Power --- Once the ' Sports ' Rear Box is fitted to your car you will find that the engine is more free-revving and that there is an increase in low/mid- range torque. Utilizing aviation manufacturing technology, and due to a relentless track development and testing programme, the Larini ' Sports ' Rear Box alone will increase power output by +22bhp, giving the baby Aston the much needed power hike into the Supercar league. Developments such redesigned internal 'straight-through' silencer pipe work and performance chambers (where necessary), help emit exhaust gasses quicker - with a reduced build up of backpressure, allowing the engine to 'breathe' and perform better. Expect much, much sharper throttle response. This System is VASTLY freer flowing in comparison to the standard item. Low speed tractability is increased too, temperatures are reduced and it is 12 kg lighter than the stock item. The System is shrouded in a ventilated heat shield to optimize operating temperatures and ultimate performance. (INTEGRITY) Structural Support ––– In the quest for much needed power and weight savings, aftermarket exhaust companies literally reduce the size of the muffler to near glass-pack stature – bad move. This is only acceptable so long as the muffler is strengthened and braced using cradles or ‘cages’ to support the muffler body and maintain structural rigidity and modulate energy dissipation in an impact. This is not to stop the muffler collapsing in an impact – quite the opposite. The idea is that the cage and then the muffler body absorb the impact themselves, thus reducing the damage to the vehicle and potentially the driver/passengers, by at first bracing and then collapsing in the correct way. This is a technology first seen in the aerospace arena where lightweight/performance and safety/structural integrity are equally as important as the other. The alternative mistake, often seen, is for aftermarket exhaust companies to manufacture large, bulky cans supported by flimsy bracketry. This can often be worse than the ‘glasspack’ option. For in an impact the huge muffler body (normally limited from full movement by the rigidly bolted flanges) then dissipates the energy absorbed thereby snapping the welded on ‘bar’. Once separated from it’s fixing bars, this in turn creates a live weapon in the form of a flailing HEAVY muffler body - very bad news. In short, an overtly heavy muffler body, or a tiny muffler body are no match for a stock muffler designed with crash integrity in mind. However there is a solution - a Larini exhaust uses advanced technologies and design, engineering experience to appease both the performance minded and the safety conscious in equal measure. Lightweight yes, but strength too. Larini ‘ Sports ’ Systems – responsibly developed exhaust systems for the road. CAD designed, double-walled, drilled, ‘Muffler-Caged’ bracketry and a ventilated muffler shield quite simply mean there is nothing available in the aftermarket arena that comes close in terms of safety. The system is designed, manufactured and finished with the same interior and exterior safety cues of any modern Aston Martin.
