Fingest House

• The house is a charming and substantial country house, its earliest part believed to date from 1790, with later additions over the centuries. The house is Listed Grade II, believed to have been designed by the architect J.S. Gwilt. The hall and dining room are of particular note, mentioned within the listing.

• The house is situated within the heart of the village, with glorious views over the gardens and of the rolling countryside and with the benefit of an unusually sunny and private aspect for a village house. The house has been subject to a sympathetic refurbishment over the last 6 years, and now provides a wonderful family home. It is only one of a handful of important country houses within the area and therefore represents a rare opportunity.

• The house is of rendered painted elevations under a clay tiled roof, approached from the village through large electric timber gates, to a gravelled driveway and paved forecourt at the front door.

• A fine front door opens to the hall and through to the elegant staircase hall, a central feature of the house, with the most impressive hand painted murals. Off the staircase hall is a well proportioned light drawing room with lovely views over the garden. It has a south facing bay window and open fireplace. The kitchen/breakfast room is central within the house, with a door to the garden and the adjacent family room and garden room.

• On the first floor is a good sized master bedroom suite with an en suite bathroom and dressing room, again with beautiful views over the gardens, together with 5 further bedrooms.
