NOTIFICATION OF MAKING A RULE UNDER THE ELECTRICAL SAFETY ACT 2002 – ADDENDUM TO EQUIPMENT SAFETY RULES I, BRIAN RICHARDSON, Director Equipment Safety and Licensing, Electrical Safety Office, Office of Industrial Electrical Safety Act 2002 Relations, being a delegate of the Regulator acting under the make an addendum rule for the Australian/New Zealand Electrical Equipment Safety System. The addendum rule, specifying the relevant standard accepted by the regulator in section 127 of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013, is made under Part 2A, Division 4 section 48K of the Electrical Safety Act 2002. In accordance with section 127 (1) (b) of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013, the following standards are considered accepted by the regulator as a standard that can be readily applied to the type, as an alternate standard to section 127 (1) (a) the standard shown in the defining standard. Camping Refrigerators – AS/NZS 60335.2.24:2010+A1 {camping refrigerators are portable refrigerators complying with requirements in AS/NZS 60335.2.24:2010+A1 as refrigerators intended for camping use, and does not include any camping refrigerator that is a fixed appliance} In accordance with section 127 (2) of the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013, the acceptance of the alternate standards listed above has effect subject to compliance of the requirement that this rule applies until 31 July 2021 unless earlier revoked; and this rule only applying as an alternate relevant standard that may be applied to in-scope electrical equipment for equipment that was registered to a responsible supplier on the Electrical Equipment Safety System (EESS) national database on or before 30 June 2020. This addendum rule for the Australian/New Zealand Electrical Equipment Safety System applies on publication and is available on the Office of Industrial Relations website www.oir.qld.gov.au and on the Electrical Equipment Safety System website www.eess.gov.au.
