To be eligible for services children require complex developmental concerns affecting performance across several areas of their life. SERVICES OFFERED include assessment and goal-directed interventions, parent education/ information sessions and consultation-liaison with school teams. REFERRAL INFORMATION Families enquiring regarding an initial appointment can contact the central intake service directly. Consultation is by appointment only. Services are available to families who meet eligibility for access and who reside in suburbs north of the Brisbane River. Referral from a General Practitioner (GP), General Paediatrician or another medical specialist is required prior to initial appointment. SERVICES OFFERED include developmental assessment and consultation-liaison with other medical specialists. This service aims to provide developmental management of children with complex health needs who have ongoing relationships with specialists at the Royal Children's Hospital. REFERRAL CONSULTATION is by appointment only. Referral from a Royal Children's Hospital medical specialist or a paediatric specialist/service of another treating hospital is required prior to initial appointment. This is achieved through ongoing multidisciplinary training, education and research in the field of child development. The team consists of senior clinicians from a multi-disciplinary background who provide clinical services within the Child Development Program. The team is involved in coordinating, planning and delivering education, teaching sessions/forums, facilitating practice development activities and providing professional supervision to health professionals working in the area of child development. Community Child Health Centres are staffed by a multidisciplinary health team.
