A mitad del siglo un fuerte terremoto sacudió a Lima y las paredes de la cofradía se cayeron, sin que se dañara el mural. Eventualmente la imagen se reveló como milagrosa para los que oraban delante de ella. En la imagen aparece Jesús crucificado. Sobre él está el Espíritu Santo y el Padre. A la derecha de la cruz está su Madre con el corazón traspasado por una lanza y a su derecha, el fiel discípulo amado. Esta imagen es venerada como el Señor de los Milagros. Sin saberlo el artista angoleño ha pintado una reflexión teológica sobre la divinidad y la humanidad de Jesucristo. Boletim Paroquial Português ~ Reflexão por: João Pereira Arruda Reflexão pelo Padre Francisco Rodrigues s.j. A leitura do Evangelho deste Domingo é tirada de Marcos, capítulo 10, e recorda-nos a famosa passagem do Homem Rico. Lembremos os momentos principais: aparece um homen na cena, o qual sente um vazio interior muito grande. O que este homem pede a Jesus e muito deseja, é perceber porque nasceu, para que vive e o que pode esperar no fim da sua vida terrena, isto é, como viver para ganhar a eternidade que o seu coração busca. Jesus responde a este homem e diz-lhe que tem que observar e cumprir os mandamentos da lei de Deus. O homem diz que já assim vive. Jesus olha para ele, com afecto e carinho,como quem diz: é verdade. Este homem é um cumpridor! No entanto Jesus nota que o seu coração está preso ás coisas deste mundo. Por isso, Jesus convida a que ele faça de Deus e da eternidade a sua riqueza. O homem fica triste e foi-se embora. Queria a eternidade. Sabia que tinha nascido para a eternidade. Mas não colocou os meios e nada fez para conseguir. Este é o grande drama. Deus não quer que sejamos pobres e vivamos na miséria. O que Deus quer é que não O troquemos por nada nem por ninguém. Deus sabe e quer que saibamos que só a liberdade do coração nos salva. As coisas e os bens deste mundo são boas se nos ajudam a vivermos melhor uns com os outros e a não fazer de nada idolatria porque só o Amor nos salva. Nós somos os administradores dos bens, e não os senhores absolutos do que Deus nos confia! E se fosse eu a encontrar-me com Jesus e falassemos sobre esse assunto, como lhe responderia? Desejo a vida eterna para a qual nasci? Que meios tenho colocado para a herdar? Administro com liberdade e generosidade os bens que Deus me confia, ou aproprio-me deles e a minha vida não anda nada bem? Procuremos rezar estes textos e dêmos as respostas ás perguntas de Jesus de acordo com o texto do Evangelho.
