Police said Stanley Salomon, 36. of Matawan, was pronounced dead at the scene by county medical examiner, Stanley Becker. Salomon, a student pilot, was conducting a touch- and-go exercise with the small fixed-wing Cessna plane when it collided with the helicopter in mid-air near an American Electronics Laboratory, according to State Trooper Lawerence Dellett.
