Penny Boothman ) Greater Manchester John Hawkins ) Integrated Support Team Kerry Bond ) 117/11 APOLOGIES Received from Councillors Colin Lambert and Neil Swannick, Eileen Fairhurst, and Mike Burrows. 118/11 DEAL FOR CITIES – DRAFT DEAL FOR GREATER MANCHESTER FROM GOVERNMENT The Combined Authority received a presentation updating members following a meeting with Greg Clarke, Minister for Cities, on 8 February. The presentation detailed context and key principles for a Greater Manchester deal and the five strategic priorities that will be worked towards. The Combined Authority agreed: 1. That the GMCA be represented at any Ministerial meetings on this issue by the Chair and the three Vice Chairs of the authority; and 2. to continue to receive updates on this issue as and when appropriate. 119/11 GM URBAN BROADBAND BID The Combined Authority received a presentation updating members on the bid to the Government’s Ultrafast Broadband Fund which will be initially established in Manchester before being rolled out Greater Manchester wide. If successful this would provide access to ultrafast broadband (based on the Government’s definition) to nearly all businesses and at least 95% of residents Greater Manchester wide. The Combined Authority AGREED to support the bid. Chair .
