(Below: music performers appearing in the film). Composers Andrew Hagen and Mort Wilson: Schtung started out as a New Zealand band in the 1970s. There is an excellent profile of the band here at Audio Culture, with programs, photos, and other details. The band fell apart in the late 1970s, and what happened to the key members of the band, Andrew Hagen and Morton Wilson, explains how they ended up in Hong Kong and hooking up with Daisy and Simon. Andrew Hagen and Morton Wilson performed briefly as a duo at the hip Blondie’s Café in Wellesley Street. They turned their hand to composing music for films and adverts and this gradually became their primary focus. Film score credits from this period included Kingpin, Squeeze, Starlight Hotel and The Scarecrow. The pair moved to Hong Kong in the 1980s and established the highly successful Schtung Music Ltd., specialising in creating soundtracks for advertising agencies. Today the company has offices in Hong Kong, Wellington, and Los Angeles. Schtung Music was still active with offices in Santa Monica, Hong Kong, Singapore and Shanghai at time of writing, and this profile of the company business was available here: Origins Schtung was originally a rock and roll band in New Zealand, formed by Andrew Hagen and Morton Wilson, President of Schtung Hong Kong. The band became so well known that theatrical and commercial directors soon asked them to branch out into scoring. And so Schtung Music, an international, full service music and sound design production house was born.
