News and information from your Liberal Democrat candidate - Edward Thompson

Edward is standing for election in his home ward of Martlesham and is an active campaigner for disability rights and is the East Suffolk Party's Diversity Officer. "When I was a small child, I had Measles and soon after I had an illness called Hydrocephalus” said Edward. As a result of Hydrocephalus, I have a handwriting disability, balance problems, now I wear glasses and I am Neurologically Diverse. I'm lucky, I could have died! Needless to say, I am an ardent campaigner for everyone with children to get them vaccinated with the MMR vaccine.” “I moved to Suffolk in 2013 and have been a Martlesham Parish Councillor since 2015. Prior to this I was a Parish Councillor for Willingdon and Jevington Council in East Sussex. I have been a member of the Liberal Democrats for many years and learned about community politics in Eastbourne. This provided me with an insight on how to do casework.” “If elected to East Suffolk Council on 2nd May I pledge to work for all residents in the area and to speak up on the issues which affect our ward.” Edward Thompson

Already we are seeing traffic congestion from the retail parks that would not have been envisaged even five years ago.” “We need to maintain Martlesham as the pleasant village community that was originally envisaged at its inception rather than becoming part of an urban sprawl”.
