From here we followed the milky glacial meltwaters of the Lutschine River to Lauterbrunnen where we boarded the train for the last leg of our journey to Wengen, perched high on the alp above. It was a short walk to our hotel where we had time to settle in and admire the amazing scenery. It had been a very hot day with temperatures in the mid-30s and, as we enjoyed our evening meal on the terrace, we were treated to a superb alpenglow on the Jungfrau. Day 2 Monday 27th June The hot sunny weather of yesterday looked set to continue, so we took the cable-car up to Mannlichen. We were immediately in a different world, surrounded by a panorama of mountains, dominated by the imposing north faces of the Jungfrau and Eiger, and with a wealth of alpine flowers at our feet.

Scheidegg | Dez – Mar Ausgangspunkt der Winterwanderung ist der Männlichen, von Grindelwald und Wen- gen gut erreichbar. Der Männlichen hat zwei völlig verschiedene Gesichter. Von Grin- Top-Winterwanderung mit Start auf dem Männlichen zur Kleinen Scheidegg delwald erscheint er als sanft aufsteigende, grüne Anhöhe. Ganz anders zeigt sich der mit Bilderbuchaussicht auf die Eigernordwand und das Dreigestirn Eiger, Männlichen von Lauterbrunnen. Karge Grashalden und schroffe Felspartien fallen von Mönch und Jungfrau. Auf der ganzen Wegstrecke wird man begleitet von dort steil ins Tal ab. Eindrücklich und kontrastreich ist der Ausblick, der sich vom Kamm der einzigartigen Bergkulisse sowie tollen Tiefblicken hinab ins Grindelwaldtal. des lang gezogenen Bergs bietet. Vom Männlichen auf 2230 m ü. M. folgt man dem bequemen, einzigartigen Höhenweg Ausgangspunkt: Männlichen – Bergstation in südlicher Richtung und leicht bergab Richtung Arvengarten. Als Erstes kommt man Endpunkt: Kleine Scheidegg – Bergstation beim Berghaus Männlichen vorbei (+41 33 853 10 68).
