Bürgenstock

The Bürgenstock, also Bürgenberg, is a Swiss mountain (1 128 m. above sea level) above in the canton . The Bürgenstock Hotel is a health resort on this very same mountain the Alp Tritt. The hotel complex on the Bürgenstock has been called since 2014 the “Bürgenstock Hotel & Resort”.

In the year 1872 the Bucher & Durrer company founded the hotel branch on Alp Tritt. They chose for this the alredy existing and documented name Bürgenstock. The Bürgenstock houses several luxury hotels and a congress center and has been one since 1872 popular holiday resort and a congress destination.

The highest open-air elevator in Europe, the Hammetschwandlift, is located on the Bürgenstock. He connects the scenic rock path with the Hammetschwand viewpoint, from where you can enjoy an impressive view of lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains.

At the foot of the steep cliffs to the lake Lucerne is the village of Kehrsiten, that you can reach with the Bürgenstock train, and from there it is possible to take a catamaran boat trip across lake Lucerne to Lucerne. Pilatus

The Pilatus is the local mountain of Lucerne and lies south of the city. The highest point is the Tomlishorn with a height of 2 128 m above sea level. Located on the promising local mountain of Lucerne the mountain station Pilatus Kulm of the Pilatusbahn with the viewing teracce, a panorama gallery and two hotels.

The Pilatus is not a mountain with a closed summit structure, the mountain range consists rather of single ones peaks or a mountain range, of which the donkey is the most striking rock formation. The Pilatus is under land protection, which also today helps keep the ibex in the wild all over the mountain can be found and is one of the great attractions of Pilatus. In 1860 the Hotel Bellevue was opened on the Pilatus. Queen Victoria stayed in 1868 with her entourage in the hotel. The Pilatustbahn, the steepest cogwheel train in the world, has been running with a maxium gradient of 48% from Alpnachstad to Pilatus-Kulm at 2 073 m above sea level, a year later after the opening of the railways was followed by the hotel Kulm. The first construction of the hotel Bellevue was carried out from 1963 replaced the now known rotunda, whereby the mountain station of the rack railway was extended.

Trip: From Lucerne to mount Pilatus with the Kriens-Krienseregg-Fräkmüntegg gondola since 1956 and the Fräkmüntegg-Pilatus cable car, which was renewed in april 2015. This enables us to take a round trip from Lucerne to Mount Pilatus by gondola and aerial cableway, then (but not in winter) with the cogwheel train to Alpnachstad and via steamship, motorship back to Lucerne. We will pick you up at the hotel and drive you to Kriens cable car, at the agreed time we are in Alpnachstad and take you to the ship. You can enjoy the return journey by ship to Lucerne, our chauffeur will pick you up at the shipping quay in Lucerne and bring you back to the hotel.

Numerous sports can be practiced on the Pilatus, such as paragliding, sledging, hiking, climbing (in the rock and in a rope park), mountain biking and tobogganing on the summer toboggan run.

The top of the mountain is illuminated for a few nights. The mountain is like that at night too an attraction high above the city of lights, Lucerne.

Stanserhorn

The (1 897 m above sea level) lies between the villages of , , , Dallenwill and Oberdorf, south of lake Lucerne and thus in the Unterwaldner Voralpen. On the southeast flank of the Stanserhorn lies at an altitude of 1 226 m above sea level the small village of Wirzweli. In summer is Wirzweli a hiking area, in winter it has a ski lift and a children`s ski lift.

The railway to the Stanserhorn was opened on 23rd. August 1893, at the same time The Hotel “Stanserhorn Kulm” was built. In 1895 an electric headlight with the power of 22 000 normal candles was installed to attract attention to the Stanserhorn. The revolving restaurant Rondorama was opened as a tourist attraction in 2001, with which one has a panoramic view up to the Vosges (France) and the Feldberg (Germany). Since 2012 you can use the unique double-decker “Cabrio-Bahn” to reach Stanserhorn.

Trip: We pick you up at the hotel and drive directly to the valley station in Stans. If you wish, our chauffeur will accompany you and show you the attractions on the Stanserhorn, invites you to a guided tour and shows you the fauna and flora with alpine flowers and the circling eagles. You want to hike, our guide will be happy to take you with him, down on the eastern slope of the Chli Horn. A short detour to the Holzwanf Chapel on the Ächerli Pass is definitely worth it, from there you can enjoy a wonderful view in the direction of . We continue to hike towards the Wirzwelibahn mountain station, where the summer toboggan run and the playground makes children`s hearts beat faster. We take the cable car to Dallenwill, the shuttle bus takes you to the train station and then back to Stans.

In addition to the delta starting point on the Stanserhorn, there are also the public favorites, the marmots in an enclosure.

Of course, you can also hike down from the Stanserhorn and back with a paraglider fly or speed down into the valley on a mountain bike.

Our tip: A spectacular convertible cable car, the cabin holds 60 people, 30 of them on the upper deck people that can be reached while driving via a spiral staircase. On top of that mountain you have a stunning view of the surrounding montains, the airfield and surrounding villages along Lake Lucerne.

Titlis

The Titlis with its 3 238 m above sea level is one of the most popular winter sports and excursion destinations in the mountain group of the Urner . In winter a very nice ski area with Jochenpass, Trübsee and valley run, always worth a trip in summer with its glacier and ice cave welcome cooling. The Titlis rotair gondola has a rotating floor and was the first cable car with rotating gondola worldwide.

The Titlis lies between the municipality of in the north and the Sustenpass, which rises upwards Gadmertal in the south, north of the summit ridge, below the summit is ideally suited for the mass winter sports, where most of the tourists stay in winter. The Titlis is alone from Engelberg opened up by mountain railways. Four large cable cars run from Engelberg stages via intermediate stations Gerschnialp, Trübsee and Stand to the mountain station Kleintitlis in 3 020 m altitude. New types of gondolas have been in use since 2014, in which the entire gondola cabin looks in the same way its suspension rotates 360 degrees while driving. So during the drive the passengers get to see the complete all-round panorama. In December 2012, on the Titlis at 3 041 m the approximately one hundred meter long Titlis Cliff Walk opened. The bridge advertised as the “highest suspension bridge in Europa” spans 500 meters sloping slope. From the mountain station the way to the bridge goes through a 140 meter long underground tunnel in the south wall window. The other end of the bridge leads to the mountain station of the Ice Flyer glacier chairlift.

Trip: Drive to Engelberg to the Titlis train valley station. With the cable car you have the options to get off at Trübsee station and hire rowing boats, hike to the Jochenpass. The mountain house Jochenpass lies at 2 222 m above sea level below the Titlis in a rustic mountain landscape in the most beautiful region in central Switzerland. From the Trübsee station you can go up to the mountain station at 3 041 m above sea level, you reach the glacier grotto comfortably via a corridor. Experience the blue ice, 5 000 years old and always at minus 1,5 degrees Celsius. The 150 m long corridor of the ice grotto leads you ten meters deep below the surface of the glacier. At the exit of the mountain station you can use the highest suspension bridge in Europe,

Interlaken

The Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald valleys branch off from Interlaken, giving Interlaken the is the center of the eastern Berner Oberland. Interlaken is the ideal starting point for trips to the , international, almost asian flair is everywhere in the city to be found, a shopping mile and Asian restaurant for every culinary delight.

The vertical rock faces around Lauterbrunnen and with the Staubach waterfalls and the Trümmelbach waterfalls is a lasting impression. The Mürrenbachwaterfalls with 417 meters and the Buchenbachwaterfalls with 380 meters are considered to be the two highest waterfalls in Switzerland. Lauterbrunnen is the center of attraction for base jumperall over the world. Interlaken is one of the major tourist centers in the Berner Oberland and has over 60 hotels, the most famous hotel is the Victoria-Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa. A wide range of outdoor and leisure activities is offered, including adventure sports such as skydiving in front of the north face, paragliding, canyoning, river rafting, bungee jumping, base jumping and kayaking. Trip: From Lucerne we drive over the Brünig Pass with a wonderful view of Obwalden, along high rock faces down towards Brienz, along Lake Brienz with his incomparable crystal clear blue mountain water. From Bern, after an impressive drive along Lake Thun and the mountain scenery after a one hour`s drive we arrive in Interlaken. Interlaken is the perfekt starting point for tours into the Lauterbrunnen valley with impressive waterfalls and the Schilthorn, as well as to Grindelwald (Top of Alps) and the Jungfraujoch.

Numerous sports can be practiced in Interlaken and the surrounding area, such as paragliding, skydiving, bunge jumping, base jump, river rafting, and with Swiss helicopter sightseeing flights to the north face of the Eiger, Jungfraujoch and up to the Matterhorn.

A visit to Interlaken is definitely worth, a city with international flair imposing mountain scenery. And in the evening a very nice shopping mile and if you like you can try the casino.

Grindelwald

The municipality of Grindelwald at the foot of the Eiger north face was the first health resort in the Berner Oberland.From 1888 it was also visited in winter. Grindelwald became famous through attempted ascent and film adaptations of the Eiger north face. The first ascent of the north face was not made until 1938.

From Grindelwald you can take the gondola with a wonderful view during the trip to the lower and upper glaciers, First you have one incredible view of the mountain panorama the triumvirate “Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau”. The Jungfrau railway takes you from the valley station along the Eiger north face to “Kleine Scheidegg”, with a wonderful view of Grindelwald, from the “Kleine Scheidegg” you have the opportunity to do that Jungfraujoch (3 463 m above sea level) to the highest railway station in Europe, or you can hike on the Männlichen and from there enjoy the view of the Lauterbrunnen valley, the schilthorn (2 970 m) and far-reaching view via Interlaken to the Vosges (France).

Trip: From Interlaken we drive into the Lauterbrunner valley and direction Grindelwald, already before Grindelwald we are impressed by the Eiger north face on the right side, when we arrive in the Dorfstreet we have countless photo opportunities, in the background the Mettenberg and the Wetterhorn with almost 4 000 m and all the mountains are impressively close to the village. With the Pfingstegg cable car we enjoy a wonderful view over Grindelwald, on the left the Eiger north wall and on the right side the First (2 200m). After a one hour hike above the Gletscherschlucht you can reach the lower glacier and from the restaurant you can enjoy the visit to the glacier. You reach the Wetterhorn after a demanding but impressive hike the Glecksteinhütte (2 317 m) with a view of the upper glacier. From Grindelwald you can take the First cable car up to over 2 200 m with a wonderful view of the mountain panorama and the world-famous triumvirate “Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau”. From Grindelwald Grund you can take the Eiger Express or comfortably the Jungfrau Railway to the Jungfraujoch, the highest train station in Europe.
