MAY SUM BUFFET 9 Babington Lane Derby, DE1 1TD 01332 209888 Wednesday 31 May 2017 (Please be on site for 12:15am) £8 a Head including Table Top Raffle

May Sum Restaurant is a family run Pan Asian self-service Chinese buffet restaurant business established in 2001, located next to the Wetherspoon’ Babington Arms so you do not have to wait outside on Babington Lane if you are early! It is perhaps the largest & most authentic oriental Pan Asian buffet restaurant in Derby. The food menu consists of: Chinese, Cantonese, Sichuan, Thai, Japanese, Peking, Teppanyaki. There is also the Basic English including chips! There is ambient background music & they are Feng shui specialist with parties catered for. The choices are obviously not as extensive at lunch time as in the evening but still a fantastic venue for a Lunch Club.

For our Lunch Club purposes, they sit us all together & they offer waiter/waitress service for drinks. Basically you go & help yourself from the buffet & when you have finished you leave your ‘empty’ plate to go for seconds. Ensure you pick up a new knife & fork & of course chop sticks are optionally supplied. The idea is a little of a lot & if there is a lot of wastage on your plate you could be charged extra but it has never happened to us yet! There are limited English choices but we normal find even someone in their eighties who had never ever eaten Chinese food was converted! You also have an inclusive choice of sweets if you have left yourself room! The soft ice cream and lime jelly certainly go down well!!

Please remember; 10-20 of us cannot just drop on a venue thus I must know how many are attending to pre-book. I would therefore be grateful if all Members, & your invited guests could let me know as for a normal lunch club. It would be appreciated if on the day you could bring the right money, but I will as normal have change if necessary. It would be appreciated if you could arrive between 12 & 12:15hrs to enable me to complete the administration (collect money & pay).

Phone or email Terry Hall with your number/s please and please advise any changes by the previous day latest to cancel without charge. Though we normally collect the money on the day, an electronic transfer to our bank account is acceptable, and saves time on the day if desired. The cost is £8 Per Person for as much as you desire to eat, including sweets and puddings, in excellent company!! If you could have the right change it will also help me on the day please. P.S. Old Fivers will not be acceptable, take them to the bank yourself to get them changed!!
