About the Hungarian Democracy Series The Hungarian Democracy Series comprised of three volumes is a ground breaking initiative to present the twenty years of the Hungarian governmental system after the system change for audiences abroad. Three books analyzing the evolution of the polity, policies and politics of Hungary introduce international audiences to the principles and practice of Hungarian government and give a comprehensive analytical framework to understand modern Hungarian politics. The Hungarian Democracy Series is a comprehensive, expert quality guidebook for those interested in unraveling the complexities of Hungarian politics and gaining in-depth knowledge about the various institutional, political and social aspects of the Hungarian democratic system. About the Authors András Körösényi is Professor of Political Science at the Faculty of Law and Government at Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest. He is the nation’s foremost scholar on political theory and Hungarian government. Csaba Tóth is guest lecturer of Political Science at the Faculty of Law and Government at Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest. He is a former senior political advisor at the Prime Minister's Office and currently the director of the Republikon Institute, a strategic communications and public policy think tank. His area of expertise covers parties and party systems, electoral systems and political campaigning. Gábor Török is a political analyst and founder of Vision Politics, a Budapest-based think tank focusing on political analysis and prognosis. He also teaches at Corvinus University, Budapest where he is head of the Center for Political Analysis. He appears regularly on television and radio programs commenting on Hungarian Politics. About DKMKA, the publisher Since 1991, the Hungarian Center for Democracy Studies Foundation has been supporting academic publications focusing on the Hungarian system change, the evolution of Hungarian parliamentary democracy and the political system. Its flagship publication, the Political Yearbook of Hungary, published every year since 1988, is among the most cited academic works in Hungarian political science literature. Counting more than one hundred and fifty contributing authors, the Yearbook is widely used by international scholars.
