MUSIC OF THE 1960s A few trends The 1960s saw many styles of popular music and countless numbers of recording artists. This week you will experience a mere taste of three types of music from this diverse decade. ● MOTOWN - This Detroit-based record label signed many African-American musicians. ● THE BRITISH INVASION - All of a sudden, many British music acts became incredibly popular among American teenagers. ● FOLK ROCK - Old folk music + modern thoughts + electric instruments Your task: Choose one song in each of the three categories below (for a total of three songs.) Find and listen to all three. Come back to them a day or two later and listen to them again so you become especially familiar with them.
