The 45-a-minute single was certified Gold for sale to one million RIAA units shortly after its high popularity as a hit single. More than 25 years later, the RIAA certified Gold Digital Format downloading songs, Kansas' only single to make it certified on September 17, 2008. The Kansas version of Inspiration The title of the song is a biblical reference, paraphrasing Ecclesiastes: I thought about everything that is achieved by man on earth, and I have come to the conclusion that everything he has achieved is useless - as the pursuit of the wind! Meditation on mortality and the inevitability of death, the lyrical theme bears a striking resemblance to the famous biblical passages of Genesis 3:19 (.. -

Joey Jam Flores
Joey Jam Flores Drummer | Educator | Band Leader About Joey Jam Joey Jam Flores started playing drums and singing at the age of two, taught by his uncle and mentor, Rudy Madrid. All styles of music from R&B, Hip Hop to Motown, Blues, Gospel, Rock, Jazz, Big Band Swing, and Latin.. By age 16, he marched for the notable Santa Clara Vanguard Drum and Bugle A Corps (1979- 1983). His final year marching, he was Drum Ensemble United States Champion. JJ also taught high school marching band drumlines from 1979-1986. His last six years were most successful as he instructed the Independence High School Marching Band Percussion Section from San Jose, CA, in which they were undefeated all six years. With his passion for music, his first exciting gig was sitting in with a small band, Spang A Lang (Tony Lindsay (Lead Vocalist for Santana) and Myron Dove (Bass/Guitarist) former members of Santana, and Sax Man Tom Pollitzer, Tower of Power.) Producer Myron Dove would call JJ at 2 am in the mornings to track drum demos and vocal tracks. Myron encouraged JJ to sing more. JJ had an opportunity to sing with Spang a Lang on their first CD and Smash Mouth's CD with rap star Coolio. In 2002, his most exciting time was drumming for Cielo Ceniza, a Rock en Espanol band from San Francisco, CA. Cielo Ceniza was signed by SONY INTERNATIONAL based out of Madrid, Spain. Cielo Ceniza toured and played to thousands of people on TV shows, radio shows and concerts. Cielo Ceniza was nominated for ‘Best Unsigned Band’ at the ASCAP MUSIC AWARDS, and was also invited to the first LATIN GRAMMY’S. -
The Roots Report: Who’S Your Favorite Beatle?
The Roots Report: Who’s Your Favorite Beatle? Okee dokee folks… I am going to commit Beatle’s heresy. At least I think that I am. Often, folks will list their favorite Beatles starting with John Lennon and ending with Ringo Starr. Paul McCartney comes in second and George Harrison, third. That is not the way I see it. My list starts with George then it’s Ringo, followed by Paul. John comes in a distant last. I think that George was the underappreciated Beatle. Ringo was and still is entertaining and fun, and is the only Beatle that I have seen perform live. I like McCartney, but sometimes his music can be annoying. I think some of the best music he did was with Wings. Then there is John. I like a couple of his songs, but I am just not much of a Lennon fan. And of course he gave us Yoko Ono, and that is enough of a reason to put him last. Hey, we are all entitled to our opinions and that is mine! Anyway, why am I even talking about this? On Saturday, October 14 at the Seaport Inn & Marina in Fairhaven, Harrisfest 2017 will be taking place. Harrisfest is billed as “A Tribute to George Harrison and musical concert event.” Scheduled to perform are Greg Hawkes (of The Cars), Tom and Trish Kelly, Walrus Gumboot, The Oh Nos, Crash Land Band, Studio Two Beatles Tribute, Thatcher Harrison, and David Tessier with His All Star Band of All Stars. In addition to the music, Cha Chi Loprete of Breakfast with The Beatles and Beatles experts Eric Taros and Richard Buskin will be appearing. -
Journal of the House
APRIL 28, 2006 2007 Journal of the House FIFTY-NINTH DAY HALL OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES, TOPEKA, KS, Friday, April 28, 2006, 11:00 a.m. The House met pursuant to adjournment with Speaker Mays in the chair. The roll was called with 123 members present. Reps. Goico and Schwab were excused on excused absence by the Speaker. Present later: Rep. Schwab. Prayer by Chaplain Chamberlain: Almighty Father, Lord of all the earth, you make the sun to shine, the rain to fall and give growth to every living thing. Thank you for your providence and for the countless ways that we are blessed. We celebrate the rain today, O God. It falls from the heavens uncontrolled by humans. With all our intellect and all our accomplishments we cannot direct where it falls or when it falls or if it falls. Only you can do that. Only you give to the earth all that sustains life. There is thunder with the rain today, and hail and lightning. Amidst the bless- ings there is danger. It is that way with us as well, Lord. Often when we are celebrating your gifts there is thunder and hail and lightning. In the midst of getting the job done, there are sparks and opportunities to make a lot of noise. Maybe it just comes with the territory. But please Lord, keep sending the rain, and keep sending your blessings. We need them as we need you, for you are our only God. Blessed be your name now and forever. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Rep.
