Grab a After not playing in the 2020 season, the Mallards are set to start their 2021 season at the Duck Pond against the Lakeshore Chinooks on Memorial Day. The stadium will be at limited capacity for tonight’s game as well as Tuesday’s against the Chinooks as well, but will then open to 100% capacity for the remainder of the season starting June 4th. The opening day starting pitcher for the Mallards is Ryan Lauk, a right-handed pitcher out of Wagner University. Lauk, a senior, has a career ERA of 4.94 and made 11 starts in his senior season. He has 142 career strikeouts in 138.1 innings pitched. Manager Donnie Scott had stated about the opening day pitcher Lauk, “Ryan is special, he’s got great stuff and throws strikes.” Memorial Day Monday is opening day all across the Northwoods League. About the Stadium: • Big Top would partner with the City of Waukesha to renovate Frame Park to create a multi-purpose facility with an artificial turf playing surface capable of hosting baseball, soccer, concerts, community events and more. • Carroll University, Waukesha North and Waukesha South will continue to play their home games at the improved Frame Park, giving them access to one of the top facilities in the state. • The facility would have approximately 2,500 fixed seats with a total capacity of up to 4,000, including berm seating, and hospitality areas, for athletic events.
