I wrote the script, which was entitled, “A Pageant of Many Voices.” I took a risk on giving such young children so many lines to learn, and they rose to the challenge beautifully! There were no auditions; I took some people’s wishes into account, while I just assigned roles to others. I wanted them to be the storytellers, to provide commentary, and to help narrate, even as I trusted Myracle Wade with the official narrative voice. This year’s version included a prophecy from Isaiah and a visit from Elizabeth. I put the Calypso “Mary’s Boy Child” at the end to conclude with an upbeat and joyful tone. I told the children that since they were replacing Rev. Christy’s sermon, it was their job to preach the gospel. “Remember,” I told them, “this is GOOD news!” — Lissa Grunert Cast: Chorus: Myracle Wade Shepherd 1: Andrew Morris Isaiah/Shepherd 3: Rich Jesson Shepherd 2: Kyle Jesson Mary: Lianna Beurman Sheep: Virgil Beurman Gabriel: Adele Grunert Announcing Angel: Katelyn McGhghy Joseph: Miles Grunert Director: Lissa Grunert Elizabeth/Host Angel: Olivia Weaver Accompanist: Dr. Zahari Metchkov YouTube Link: https://youtu.beXVVistnuuubU 2 Piano Conversations 2018 Debuts with Tsvetana Bandalovska When: Friday, January 19, 2018, 7:00 p.m. Where: Ascension Episcopal Church, 18th and Grand Avenue Tickets: $10 at the door, free for children and college students Performers: Tsvetana Bandalovska, soprano, and Zahari Metchkov, piano Program: Arts Songs by Strauss, Rachmaninov; Opera Arias by Dvorak, Verdi, Wagner TSVETANA BANDALOVSKA (SOPRANO) was born in Syktyvkar, Komi, Russia.
