In the days and weeks leading up to the January 1, 2008, Global Siddha Yoga Audio Satsang, here are the recommended ways to prepare:

Reading: Each day, read a passage from Gurumayi’s book of the Heart Vol. I. Many people find that it works best for them to schedule a regular time each day for such reading.

Chanting: During the Global Audio Satsang, we will be chanting Baba’s name —

Jay Jay Mukt§nanda, Mukt§nanda Jay Jay. Ga∂e≈pur∞ Niv§s∞, Jagadguru Mukt§nanda. Here are some ways you can prepare for this chant: 1) find regular times to chant along with the CD — for example in your sadhana circle, at home, or in your car — and 2) contemplate the meaning of the words in the chant. For a translation of the chant and a sample of the recording, you can visit the Siddha Yoga Website at www.siddhayoga.org/chantpage.htm. The CD is available for purchase through the Siddha Yoga bookstore at www.bookstore.siddhayoga.org.

Meditation: Make a regular time to meditate each day or week. At least once a week, make time to medi- tate for an extended period of time. In the days and weeks leading up to the Global Audio Satsang, make time to practice . You can do this sitting or while taking a walk.

Exercise: Practice or do other physical exercise that supports strength and flexibility, so that you’re able to sit comfortably. You can also dedicate some time to relaxing your body and focusing on your breath. Another way to prepare is to take a 15- to 20-minute walk each day. This will help your posture and breathing, and as is mentioned above, you can combine the walk with your practice of japa. In addition to preparing for the Global Audio Satsang, you can plan in advance to have some time after the satsang for reflection and journaling. This will greatly support you to further assimilate what you’ve experienced and learned during the satsang.
