I also really liked how even though some of the characters were past avatars of The Green, you still didn't quite trust them, and they weren't always the greatest of people. Batman Normally not a Soule fan, but he does a pretty good job on Swamp Thing. The stand off is pretty short, so I'm left wanting a little more I like the politics within the green and the eventual push away from altruism from the hero. The series has much wider parallels with the real world now, and feels much more grounded, despite essentially being about a bunch of swamp monsters fighting each other with plant magic. It works well, hinting at how much more powerful Swamp Thing could be if he utilized more of his abilities, then putting it on display in his battle with the Seeder, and then the aftereffects Swamp Thing comes back into a major story arc, as he fights the Seeder to defend his role as Avatar of the Green. If Alec fails the Seeder's challenge, the fate of mankind will be sealed and reclaimed by The Green under the control of The Seeder. Who'll become the avatar??!
