XM Radio to Air ESPYs, Exclusive Red Carpet Specials

WASHINGTON, D.C., July 10, 2008 -- XM will be the exclusive provider of the 2008 ESPYs celebration in cooperation with ESPN. XM will simulcast the ESPN TV awards show on July 20 9-11 pm ET, and it will air pre- and post-awards specials produced by ESPN exclusively for XM listeners.

ESPN Radio's Jason Smith will host the XM specials 8-9 pm and 11-midnight ET from the red carpet at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE, the entertainment complex in downtown .

XM's coverage of The ESPYs will air nationwide on ESPN XTRA, the XM channel featuring round-the-clock sports news and commentary from ESPN Radio and ESPNEWS. ESPN XTRA, which premiered on XM in February 2008, is XM channel 141.

Hosted by Justin Timberlake, The 2008 ESPYs will bring celebrities from sports and entertainment together to commemorate the past year in sports by recognizing major sports achievements and honoring the leading performers and performances. Scheduled presenters include Lance Armstrong, Jason Bateman, David Beckham, Kristen Bell, Sophia Bush, Ashanti, Zac Efron, Brendan Fraser, Samuel L. Jackson, , Steve Nash, David Ortiz, Candace Parker, Danica Patrick, Annika Sorenstam, Kate Walsh and Luke Wilson.
