Statement of Consultation. 14.1 Consultation meetings held on 13th November 2016. Informal open meetings were held at Somerleyton and Lound village halls. These meetings were advertised by delivering a flyer to every house in the two parishes, and by putting posters on the village notice boards and websites. A letter was also sent to all local businesses and other local organisations. The events were well attended, with 50 people visiting Somerleyton village hall, and 28 people visiting Lound village hall Consultation meeting at Somerleyton Post-it notes for residents’ comments Residents were able to view maps and to comment on various local issues using ”post-it” notes, which proved a very successful way of collecting their views. At the end of the meetings 330 comments had been received, and these were analysed. A summary of the comments which was displayed on the village notice boards and websites, and is shown below: NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN 29 Lound with Ashby, Herringflet, and Somerleyton Neighbourhood Plan CONSULTATION DAY 13TH NOVEMBER 2016 THE KEY ISSUES RAISED BY THE COMMUNITY WERE: Housing. Avoid building new houses on some specified sites, although some acceptable sites were identified. The Blundeston prison site and brownfield sites in Lowestoft are more suitable. New development should be limited to small houses.

    The Benefice of Walton and Trimley Benefice Profile 2019 Welcome and Introduction Welcome to the Benefice of Walton and Trimley and our profile. The Benefice is situated near the end of a peninsula bordered by the river Deben to the north, the river Orwell to the south and the North Sea to the east. Walton originally spanned a large area adjacent to a small fishing hamlet known as Felixstowe, with the Trimleys being slightly further inland. Today Walton and Trimley are considered to be on the outskirts of the town of Felixstowe. The Benefice was formed in 2014 from the parishes of St Mary’s Walton and St Martin’s and St Mary’s Trimley. Each church is happy and active but with its own identity. Both churches are central parts of the community around them and have church families with a heart and a desire for bringing Jesus to the people of their parish and sharing His love for them. The two parishes work closely together, they have equal and separate PCCs but do come together as a Benefice PCC three times a year. Each PCC contributes towards the Parish Share so that as a Benefice this is paid in full. The Benefice churches belong to and support Churches Together in Felixstowe which links the Christian witness in the town and provides joint ventures in which many members of the church families participate. These includes events during Unity Week, a procession of witness from St Mary’s church to the town centre on Good Friday where a united service is held and a ‘Son Rise’ service on Easter Sunday morning at the beach.

This is fantastic news and means an overwhelming majority of residents, businesses and organisations can now enjoy the benefits of faster and more reliable internet speeds. But as a resident and a councillor of a rural ward where some premises still do not enjoy these benefits, I know we have further to go. We already have a contract in place for Openreach to extend fibre broadband coverage to 98% of all Suffolk premises by 2020. But even beyond this, we are committed to reaching 100% Superfast Broadband coverage in Suffolk as quickly as possible. First of all there is the main manor, dealt with by Dr. Copinger in his " Manors of Suffolk," III., 348, as • " The Manor of Yaxley." This was at a very-early date a portion of some property which had been vested in the Priory of Hoxne, and according to the Gilling- water MSS," WilliamCastleton, Prior ofthe monastery at Norwich sold to Sir Richard Gresham, Kt., the Priory or Cellat Hoxne, the Manor of Yaxley Hall, and all the revenues belongingthereto," recorded by Blome- field in his " History ,of Norfolk," thus, " William Castleton, Prior of Norwich, on April 1st, 1538, fore- seeing the Reformation alienated from the Church the cell at Hoxne, and Manor of Yaxley to Sir Richard Gresham Kt., for which he had absolution." I do not think this could possibly be intended for the Yaxley Hall of to-day, besides which there is a site called " Yaxley Manor House," and is so printed in Gothic letters on the Ordnance map. It almost joins the 2 YAXLEY HALL. I 'I, • boundary line between that parish and Mellis. My interest in aircraft at Old Buckenham started several years ago and recently David Moth and I have been involved in creating a web-based photographic record of visiting !aircraft, “OLDBUCKSHOTS”. With December 2013 being the 70th anniversary of the arrival of the 453rd Bomb Group, I thought it appropriate to try to put together a record of all the B24 Liberators that were based at Old Buckenham during World War II. I was particularly interested in recording the individual aircraft identities including the names the crews gave their aircraft. (Details of !missions flown and aircrews are already well covered in existing publications.) My initial research was based on what I was able to glean from existing published material, and, as far as I am aware, the information I have put together in this booklet is !not available in this format anywhere else. The project became even more interesting when I had the pleasure of meeting Pat Ramm who, as a schoolboy during the war, was a frequent visitor to Old Buckenham airfield. He very kindly allowed me to copy his large collection of photographs and also shared his clear memories of the period with me. This spurred me on to undertake more thorough !research, the results of which I am now able to share with you. I am also indebted to the generous help from the members of the 453rd Memorial Association in particular to Tom Brittan for sharing his personal records and also to Tim !Ramsey, without whom this booklet would not have been possible.
