The working lighthouse, beach huts, award- winning pier, Adnams Brewery, busy harbour, cliff top cannon and of course the beautiful sandy beach, combine to make Southwold a quintessentially English resort town. There is a whole host of fascinating, traditional independent shops and cafes, as well as no less than four pubs - all serving locally brewed Adnams ales. Why not take a thrilling boat trip onboard the Coastal Voyager speedboat and see Southwold from the sea, or venture across the River Blyth by foot ferry to the tiny fishing village of , perhaps crossing back by the footbridge built along the trackbed of the old .

Backed by a traditional ‘beach village’ of historic fishing cottages, it is also a great place to set out on a beach walk, either north towards Lowestoft or south towards Southwold.
