  • Lowestoft Catchment Area List for the 2021/2022 School Year Only Your Catchment Area School May Not Be Your Nearest Suitable School
Lowestoft Catchment Area List for the 2021/2022 school year only Your catchment area school may not be your nearest suitable school. School travel eligibility is based on a child attending their nearest suitable school that would have had a place available for them. This means that your child might not be eligible for Suffolk County Council funded school travel to your catchment area school. We strongly recommend that you check which school is your nearest suitable school on our Nearest School Checker because this might not be your catchment area school. You can find out which are your three nearest Suffolk schools (based on the statutory walking distance including Public Rights of Way) by putting your postcode into our nearestschool.suffolk.gov.uk. We update this each year to include new roads and developments. Suffolk County Council (SCC) Funded School Travel Please be aware: You must consider how your child will travel to and from school before you apply for a school place. Further information on how to apply for a school place can be found on the relevant page at www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissions. Full details about SCC funded school travel, including the School Travel Policy, additional arrangements for low income families and those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), can be found at www.suffolkonboard.com/schooltravel. • 244 Reviews Reviews. Suffolk Sea Borders
244 REVIEWS REVIEWS. SUFFOLK SEA BORDERS. By H. ALKERTRIPP(" Leigh Hoe ") Illustrated by the Author. London: John Lane, The Bodley Head Limited. Price'8/6. SuffolkSea Borders gives us a view of Suffolkin profileas seen from the sea. It is a pleasure to follow the Author's skilful handling of his smack-converted-yacht Irene, in which he not only skirts our Coast but penetrates up rivers and into inlets and broads, where to enjoya trip, not onlyskillis required, but considerablejudgment and knowledgeof tides, winds, foreshore, and many inconsequent happenings is also necessary. Our Coast is quite prepared to supply the occupants of small craft with every phase of emotionbetween the extremes of blissful enjoyment and abject misery. The Author is singularlyhappy in escapingthose many mishaps whichfallto the lot oflessskilfuladventurers, for it is no uncommon experienceto be caught by the ebb on a mud bank up a Creek, the boat badly careenedand only onepair of Poits aboard to convey the crew ashore. The problem of transporting the goat, the cabbage and wolf is child's play in comparison. No lesshappy and freefrommishapsare the Authors' allusionsto the history of our Coast, and in this respect he evidencesa much more than superficialstudy of Suffolk'sgeographicaland historical evolution, and Suffolk archxologists will find in this book much antiquarian lore that only a student of coastalmatters couldsupply. The book is remarbably comprehensive, for.within its 254 pp. are contained 8 illustrations in monochrome,100in line, together with two sea charts of our Coast from Yarmouth to Harwich and the invaluable adjunct of an Index.

www.gov.uk/englandcoastpath England Coast Path Stretch: Aldeburgh to Hopton-on-Sea Report AHS 5: Pakefield to Lowestoft Part 5.1: Introduction Start Point: Crazy Mary’s Hole, Pakefield (grid reference: TM 5360 8867) End Point: Links Road, Lowestoft (grid reference: TM 5503 9531) Relevant Maps: AHS 5a to AHS 5d 5.1.1 This is one of a series of linked but legally separate reports published by Natural England under section 51 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949, which make proposals to the Secretary of State for improved public access along and to this stretch of coast between Aldeburgh and Hopton-on-Sea. 5.1.2 This report covers length AHS 5 of the stretch, which is the coast between Pakefield and Lowestoft. It makes free-standing statutory proposals for this part of the stretch, and seeks approval for them by the Secretary of State in their own right under section 52 of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949. 5.1.3 The report explains how we propose to implement the England Coast Path (“the trail”) on this part of the stretch, and details the likely consequences in terms of the wider ‘Coastal Margin’ that will be created if our proposals are approved by the Secretary of State. Our report also sets out: any proposals we think are necessary for restricting or excluding coastal access rights to address particular issues, in line with the powers in the legislation; and any proposed powers for the trail to be capable of being relocated on particular sections (“roll- back”), if this proves necessary in the future because of coastal change.
