Reports 11.1 Council Reports Councillor Laveck attended the Leduc Regional Housing Foundation BBQ for seniors, participated in the transportation study with the consultant, and Community Awareness Night. Councillor Porter attended the Movie in the Park, the economic development action plan, and the Community awareness Night. Councillor Adams missed Community Awareness Night due to being out of country but wife attended who advised there was good attendance. Councillor Hugh attended the transit group discussion, the RVA meeting on behalf of Councillor Laveck, economic development action plan, a Devon Historical Society meeting and Community Awareness Night. Acknowledgment to the Devon Rocks initiative going on in the community, to see the results all over the community, seeing the engagement and community spirit and its great the Town got behind it, KUDOS for the initiative for greater community spirit. Councillor Koroll attended 2 LDRWMA Meetings, Calmar Parade, Capital Region Municipal Golf Tournament, Economic Development Contractor Meeting, Alberta Recycling Conference (toured EIA terminal building recycling and sorting facility, Leduc Regional Landfill and Leduc #1. A few of the sessions attended; Light Pollution, Automotive plastic recycling in Alberta, “SKY” Facility Cannabis facility located in Leduc County), Community Awareness Night, Transportation Study Meeting. Thank you to the Lions Club for the beef on a bun and the Devon Community Signers at the Community Awareness Night. Councillor May attended the Community Awareness Night, CRASC, Yellowhead Regional Library Strong and Free conference and the Yellowhead Regional Library Executive meeting. Mayor Lindop had a meeting with the Premier’s office economic development, and a Minister Shaye Anderson meeting, met with the Mayor of Medicine Hat, great meeting, productive time and broaden contacts. December 2020 (FINAL) Executive Summary This application has been prepared by the City of St. Albert respecting the annexation of approximately 24 quarter sections of land from Sturgeon County. The lands that are the subject of the annexation are required to meet the City’s long-term residential, commercial, industrial, and institutional growth needs to a 45-year horizon. The City initiated the annexation process in 2017 with a Notice of Intent to Annex (Appendix B). Following extensive discussions over a three-year period, the City and the County reached agreement on all matters, including: a) A Negotiated Annexation Area totalling 1,558 hectares (3,850 acres); b) Tax protection to landowners as documented in the Annexation Agreement (Appendix C); c) A general transition plan for landowners and residents as documented in the Annexation Agreement; and d) The amount of compensation to be provided to the County as documented in the Annexation Agreement.

For this year, the deadline for submission of the Three-Year Capital Plan 2015-2018 to Alberta Education was April 1, 2014. An extension to this deadline has been granted. The Ten-Year Facilities Plan must also be reviewed and be made available upon request by Alberta Education. The most recent Ten-Year Facilities Plan was approved in June 2008. Over the past six years, the rate of residential growth in Edmonton has increased significantly, creating challenges for the District. An updated Ten-Year Facilities Plan is required to capture the current challenges and opportunities facing the District (Attachment I). RECOMMENDATION That the proposed Ten-Year Facilities Plan 2015-2024 and Three-Year Capital Plan 2015- 2018 be approved for submission to Alberta Education. BACKGROUND Infrastructure Planning Principles In September 2013, the Board of Trustees approved the Infrastructure Planning Principles to guide capital, facility and student accommodation planning. The principles are as follows: 1. Accountability: Infrastructure decisions shall be transparent, evidence based and reflect meaningful engagement with stakeholders. 2. Centres for Educational Excellence: Infrastructure assets shall serve as centres for educational excellence that meet the needs of district students, as well as their families and staff, where appropriate.

The discussion of a city museum has been part of the municipal conversation for decades. As a result, there has been a lot of informative and Titerative work conducted to frame the project over the last number of years. This report strives to complement this existing work by focusing on two evolving contexts - evolving museum practices and the evolving Edmonton context. The first part of this report reviews changing practices in museums. Traditional museum models still dominate the field today, yet there is tremendous potential to create a model that is more responsive to its local context. An analysis of progressive museums around the world is intended to evolve the thinking on the Edmonton City Museum and open up new possibilities for consideration.
